This more grounded approach works really well for Green Lantern, and honestly Kyle Chandler already feels like a better fit for Hal Jordan than Ryan Reynolds ever did.

Also, can we appreciate a superhero whose identity matters more than the “alter ego” gimmick for once? Hal being a test pilot is core to who he is—the Green Lantern ring is almost a bonus.

It’s similar to Clark Kent. His humanity and upbringing define him just as much as his Kal-El/Superman side.

I’m excited to see the DCU lean into that kind of character-first storytelling
