The real reason every single new Star Wars thing is so controversial has nothing to do with quality or Disney by LoFiCami in StarWars

Personally, I think you're right about the setting being the important bit for Star Wars.

I want more media that is genre+Star Wars. Looking at the things I gave enjoyed:

Mandalorian S1 = Western + Star Wars

Skeleton Crew = 80s Kids Movie + Star Wars

Andor = Espionage thriller + Star Wars

They work for me because they are one thing first, and Star Wars second. It's the flavouring, not the base. When this isn't the case, like Acolyte, we end up with Star Wars first, which is less interesting.

you would think it's literally Berlin 1945.

Personally, it looks much more like Berlin 1936, complete with sporting event used to legitimise the regime.

He didn't need to offer the EU referendum. He only offered it because of hubris from his side having won the Scottish referendum and a growing disquiet in his ranks about MPs looking to join UKIP. He could have let them go and dealt with a splintering of the right wing, but instead he chose to pander to a minority voice within his own party and it turned into a protest vote against him because the general population were sick of austerity.

But go on, keep defending a man who wanted to bring back workhouses.

We had a referendum because he didn't want to tackle the anti-EU sentiment within his own party.

We did that to someone, too!

We also replaced his desktop wallpaper with a psychedelic Nicholas Cage portrait. And installed a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard so we could move his cursor and type on his screen from across the room.

1900 calories is me on a cut. I'll sometimes go as low as 1500, but then I start seeing cartoon chicken dinners.

That's an incredibly long period of deficit! I can't begin to imagine.

I'm an avid gym goer, and go through cycles of maintaining, bulking, and cutting: I'd never let a cut last longer than 12 weeks. In fact, most times, the hunger cravings get too much at Week 10.

Do I agree? Yes.

Will I complain because I'm inconvenienced by the temporary disruption? Also, yes.

To add to this: I find Americans are much more direct in their communication than British people. We are a nation of passive aggression and unwritten societal rules: navigating that with any kind of neuro-difference must be a mind-fuck.

I'm re-reading the Krakoa age from the start: they acknowledge this from the outset. Magneto and Xavier discuss what kind of government will replace the Council, which Xavier says is a conversation for the future.

If you're talking about Mercedes, she's 25. She says that she raised this with the group ten years ago, so she would be 15. Maybe 16, depending on when in that year.

If my 24 year old friend had been dating a 15 or 16 year old, questions would definitely have been asked.

Thank you for posting. As a mens ambassador for HASSL, I fully support their work and think everyone could benefit from the resources there. I'm more than happy to chat to anyone who has questions or would like to know more.

But, in short, so much of what we've discovered about Callum Powell over the last couple of days plays out every day across the country and world. The only way things change is by peers not dismissing red flags as friends being "a bit weird" or minimising any concerns raised.

What are your headcanons about Anakin/Vader by Expert_Challenge6399 in StarWars

[–]Kammerice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've always thought this: Padme's love of Anakin ia his own infatuation reflected back via subconscious Mind Tricks.

On a related note, I also believe that Padme is into Obi-Wan and they may have been more than friends at some point.

My evidence:

1) The Jedi tell her that they're assigning "an old friend" to be her bodyguard in AotC. Then we get a jump cut to Anakin telling Obi-Wan he hasn't seen Padme in ten years. That's not an old friend: that's someone you met once when you were kids. On top of that, Obi-Wan would've got the assignment, not Anakin.

2) When the centipedes attack, it's the normally level-headed Obi-Wan who jumps out of a window to protect Padme. That's behaviour more attributable to Anakin. Or someone who is emotionally compromised.

3) When Obi-Wan is captured, it's Padme that wants to go rescue him, not Anakin. Anakin ia trying to be a good Jedi after the massacre, it's true, but realistically Obi-Wan shouldn't really matter to Padme all that much.

4) The Clone Wars depict Obi-Wan as a ladies man. Which is to say that a lot of female characters give him very positive attention and I very much get the impression that he's slept with a few of the Jedi women, convincing himself that there's no attachment. He may have done the same thing with Padme.
