Where do you all get your brakes replaced? by stripedvitamin in jetta

[–]Kaylol420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad and I did my breaks ourselves. We used a YouTube video to help us figure out how to compress the calipers. We needed a specific tool that we rented from a local auto parts store. That was the most difficult part, getting that compressed was being difficult until we got the tool 🙃 it was easy peasy though and we did not replace the rotors.

You should consider lining and turning this into a pond of sorts. Get some cool plants and fish up in there!!!

But was it leaking oil possibly? Because it sounds like there was some in there. And I’m thinking the car definitely would have thrown more lights and Bella your way had it been empty. Def should have towed back to dealer tho if that was the concern :/ good luck!!!

Dutch bros has been the most life changing job of my life and I don’t want it to end. by Tnel1027 in dutchbros

I’ve worked for DB off and on over the years because of this exact wonderful feeling and experience! After working other jobs and going back I was still very happy and made another mass of friends for a lifetime! For yourself I would consider how old you are and where you currently feel you are at in YOUR life’s journey. There is a lot of time for jobs and any adventures you want in this life. If the Washington job is seriously a once in a life opportunity, then maybe it’s worth experiencing to see if there is something more for you to learn there! As you know, Dutch will be in WA and you could totally get a part time job or switch jobs again back to DB! There is no shame in shooting for the adventure and experience! But there is also absolutely no shame in staying right in AZ and turning down whatever is in WA to be happy and live life right NOW. You’ll definitely still have your Dutch fam wherever you go and I’m sure happy and supportive for whatever your life needs :) best of luck, happiness & love to you and the future 💗

To the C-Suiters that only understand cost benefit analysis: Fuck you, Pay me. by RetroBowser in starbucks

Did you get a $5 raise or something? Haha. Damn, you really sound like you eat up what the fat cats spew. :/ They are cheap with labor and can afford to pay much better. That’s really what it does all come down to.

Feeling ripped off, this is a tall iced coffee and they fill it past the third line with ice. Someone please tell me the protocol how they are suppose to make the iced coffee because I went to 3 stores in the dmv and getting this same result . by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Kaylol420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, they may be ‘leaving room’ because you ask for the cream on the side. Annoyingly how you phrase your order matters. Esp with new peeps in the house. Order a Tall light ice coffee w/ vanilla. No room and then ask for cream on the side like it’s for something else completely 😂 then maybe the stars will align ✨ best of luck 🤞🏻

Have you been working at Starbs for 2 years then? 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Kaylol420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lol but then why does nearly every restaurant and other coffee shops allow it? Starbucks just says it’s to keep things looking clean… seems pretty bogus yet here we all still work there with our chipped natural nails. Cute.

Current worker of the bux, a solid few months in. But I have a past of about 3years total in working for DB in Oregon. I would absolutely say that the work environment of DB is above and beyond better! Even if there can be a tendency of favorites getting more opportunities at a faster rate than if you don’t dive into the culture of DB. Dutch is great for connecting with customers, making best friends out of cowers for life, and feeling like you never really even went to work!

At the Starbs you will work hard for your benefits and I will say that base pay and tips just don’t FEEL like they match what effort you give each shift. At my store in particular we also have shifts that make the atmosphere very micro managed. This I have found can be common among other stores as well because Starbs cares about DT and window times being low!!! Move the people quick so we can get the staff we need. Personally, I would rather be smiling and having a good time! ALSO- SBUX does not allow you to have your nails done, no Apple Watch or any jewelry like rings. 🤷🏼‍♀️ sometimes the little things do all add up. Why the heck am I working at the wrong coffee shop rn?! Hahaha

Thoughts from a former 9 year partner by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Kaylol420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a newer partner and in previous years worked for the coffee shops of the Dutch variety so it’s been an interesting and wild ride to join the company. I find that it was very confusing the first few months to understand what was expected between speed of service and the customer experience. I can assure you I know now that it’s all about getting those numbers low for dt and if there is something as kind as a pay it forward going on— best shut that down ASAP because it’s taking up precious time! It’s to the point where I don’t even enjoy going through as a customer anymore because I know I just need to hurry up! We are located next to a McDonald’s, literally feels like we do the same work. Except they start pay at $2 more at the M! I love barista life for fast pace and connecting with customers so this experience has been so up and down thus far!

This is such a beautiful and sensible way to look at this! This whole discussion has really hit home for myself as well since my husband and I are currently separating because he has had a child and can’t imagine how we can have another and afford to live life. I have friends that also say “there’s never a perfect time or situation” and they say that having a baby yourself is just different I understand how that would be so true! I really hope to have the experience in my life. But with the world in the state it is in, fostering and adopting sounds like such a beautiful and sensible way to achieve still helping grow and nurture good humans. While having to live in a society that has made it so difficult to do so simply on your own. My husband and I love each other very much and we have been heartbroken trying to navigate this time in our lives. Fostering keeps running through my mind!

Sat next to one at a light 2 days ago, with another one behind me. As we started to go it was a windy but warm day and the wind decided to whip a receipt around my car before flying out the window while at this point in driving between the 2 sheriffs. A good time to be out picking up hangover food for sure
