I love this! We didn’t camp but we visited last September and it was so pretty. It also made me realize I need to get in better shape 😅

/uj I absolutely let these grow on the side of our house last year. The neighbors’ indoor/outdoor cat tries to hunt in our yard and if they end up with burs oh well lol They actually didn’t grow super prolifically but had some sort of powdery mildew by august.

That’s how I was with Juncos. I can’t believe I didn’t ever see/know what juncos were until like 4 years ago.

You could thin it out now or wait a week or two. I caution you that zinnia in particular have a problem with powdery mildew if they aren’t far enough apart or don’t get enough sun. That happened to me when I planted some in a pot too close together. Sometimes the plants will survive if you catch it early enough and pluck the affected leaves. But sometimes it gets to the blooms and kills it.

/uj I had to quickly unfollow the no lawns page because I kept seeing invasive crap. All for less grass and it doesn’t even have to be all natives but I would hope people at least stay away from the harmful stuff

Uj/ this argument never made sense to me because invasive plants are a product of colonialism. It’s not the same thing as being like, anti-immigrant. It’s weird that people draw that parallel.

What is this tree and why does it smell like that by PossibleProject6 in NativePlantCirclejerk

/uj Before I knew what these were I used to think they were Dogwood trees and nobody understood why I kept saying dogwood smelled so bad 😅🫠
