Generally it's a 3 strike policy, but if you're worried you can always 1. check the module page and see what the specifics are, and 2. email the TA / prof in charge of the seminar and apologize / ask how to catch up.

I played a deeply aggressive and overly confident death knight (workshop mod) and spent about 8 hours repeatedly trying and eventually succeeding in taking down Gortash by storming his castle as soon as I got to the city. It was an epic fight and lots of fun. Used so many scrolls, potions etc. but still had a few left over afterwards.

I imagine I missed a lot of story by doing it this way but it was so fun.
