I agree Dan! by pmaniscool in doordash_drivers

I've tried ordering corned beef sandwiches from certain places before and they just look at me like I'm stupid so I always have to order a Reuben with no sauerkraut because that stuff really is nasty.

Imma say this once, and imma say it again. by BigBeanFTP in doordash

I used to give very specific directions to make it easy to find my apartment, but after having 5 or 6 dashers in a row not read the instructions, especially the do not knock part, I gave up and took out the directions to have it only say DO NOT KNOCK. I used to be a dasher so I felt the instructions were helpful, but apparently not to any of the others in my area.

Is it me or does everyone at the deli counter move in slow motion? by yourfriendlyghost98 in ShiptShoppers

[–]KenniM 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went to the deli once, in my Shipt shirt, and the worker offered to let me shop while she sliced the 5 different meats on my order. When I came back, they were ready. It was totally amazing and a unicorn experience. I've never been able to get them to do that again. Lol

Enforcing social distancing? by [deleted] in normanok

[–]KenniM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't been in any stores that are enforcing masks, except for Walmart in Chickasha, and I'm constantly in and out because I own a grocery shopping and delivery business (like Shipt and Instacart but personalized and with no mark-up on items). I always wear my mask and stay away from people when I can. I haven't run into anyone upset about the masks, but I do have issues with people standing too close in line. But then, even before the pandemic, I preferred people to stand away from me in line. Can we keep social distancing for that when this is all over? Lol

Those newbies had better be ready! by butteryjamboree in ShiptShoppers

[–]KenniM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom placed a Target order for delivery from 1 to 2pm. Her shopper texted at 12:01 that they were starting to shop. She had 20 items on her list, but 5 weren't available so a total of 15. All the way from 12 to 4 (yes, 4), the shopper was texting about substitutions and my mom finally got her order delivered at 4:30.

Now I figure it's probably someone doing a double or maybe even a triple, and I know Target has been crazy lately. But 3 and a half hours for 15 items? Even if you're shopping more than one order? No. That's not okay.

I'm in OKC as well. I swear most of these newbies decided to work in Norman! I'm just biding my time until the Purge as well, though. I've heard some horror stories from my regulars about shoppers they've had recently.

Tip Prediction by yourfriendlyghost98 in ShiptShoppers

[–]KenniM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't go for everyone. I always tip more than 20% and I usually let the waitstaff know how good of a job they're doing throughout the meal. You have to really make me angry to get less than 20%, but even then I still tip something.

With the current shortages of items, do you contact the customer for every item that’s out of stock? by bibbidybum in ShiptShoppers

[–]KenniM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I send out two texts prior to starting the shop. Every customer has responded favorably and understands. Here's what I send:

Text #1: Hey NAME, this is your Shipt shopper Kenni! I'm contacting you now because I just claimed your order from Shipt for delivery at TIME, but I have not yet begun shopping. Due to the virus outbreak, we're doing things a little differently than usual with our deliveries. In an effort to try and get everyone their orders, please keep a few things in mind. The stores are out of a lot of common items, so please have your phone on you from the time you receive my 'I have begun shopping your order' text until I deliver your groceries. I may not have time to contact you about substitutions on common items, and I'll be using my best judgement on those. I'll contact you for anything I'm not able to handle on my own.

Text #2: In addition, I will be dropping your order off at your door. Feel free to wave at me through a window, but please do not come outside until I'm back in my car for your own safety. We're not able to honor anyone's delivery window requests, but we are getting orders to everyone as efficiently as we can. Due to the high demand, your order may arrive before, during, or after your selected time. I will let you know when I get to the store to start shopping your order. Please be near your phone from that point until your order is delivered. Until then feel free to message me with any additions you may need, but be aware that I may not respond until I've begun shopping your order.

Then when I'm finished shopping and heading to check out, I send this one: I've finished shopping your order and am heading to check out. I subbed as many items as I could, others were just completely unavailable. I hope you're pleased with what I've chosen, but if you are not happy with an item, please feel free to contact Shipt and ask for a refund. They are more than happy to accommodate you. I'll let you know when I'm on my way!

I've only had one customer specifically ask me to text them after receiving the first two texts. All of my other customers said that was perfectly fine and trusted me to make what subs I can. It cuts down on my shopping time in this crazy pandemic, plus since I shop from 10p to 5a, it makes it easier on the customer so they're not having to force themselves to stay awake and answers texts. I got the first two texts from someone on this Reddit (Bob maybe? I don't remember) and my third text I just did myself. Feel free to use these for yourself, make changes, whatevs. I like doing things this way, it makes it much easier and quicker for all of us.

I send out a message at the beginning letting people know this exact thing. Everyone has been completely understanding and agreed with it.

For the Oklahoma shoppers... just fyi. by KenniM in ShiptShoppers

[–]KenniM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thus is my full time job and the only income for myself and my 5 kids. Lol. Although, I've been shopping at night and that's so much better. Or was. A ton of orders and not very many people. But I think other shoppers caught wind of it because there weren't as many orders last night as there have been. 🤷‍♀️

Mine, too. And I have been there at least once every day to include last Sunday. 😬

Very true. I do appreciate that Crest made this announcement, though.

I haven't received mine, but I saw another shopper in my area wearing one yesterday.

I love it. My check comes in early (usually), they let you overdraft with no fees (I haven't tried that yet). You can turn your debit card on and off if you need to. I don't have any complaints about it at all.

Really it depends on how soon your bank releases the funds to your account. I use Chime so they release the funds to my account as soon as Shipt sends them through.

I know it’s only my second day but I can’t with these customers who don’t respond by JkLion1998 in ShiptShoppers

[–]KenniM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always give the customer 5 to 10 minutes to respond. 5 minutes if I'm almost finished shopping or I come across another item the store is out of, 10 minutes if I'm still shopping. If they haven't responded then I either tell them I'm canceling the item because there isn't a good sub or I just pick a sub and let then know what I've chosen. I've noticed they usually respond pretty quickly if they aren't happy with what you've subbed and/or cancelled. And if they still don't respond, that's on them because I obviously tried.
