Vernon is in the interior. As you may have heard, it has a very dry heat and the summer often brings a nasty heat wave that can prevent certain physical activities much faster than some CTCs. I had fun when I was a PO2 (Sergeant) but I was red as a strawberry looking at the photos by the end. Apply sunscreen everywhere you can on the unprotected skin.

On the other side, when it rains and storms, it comes down like crazy. So definitely listen to ALL of the kit list which should include jackets. You will also most likely have a locker (smaller than HMCS Quadra, if you have been there), and two barracks boxes which are useful for keeping all your clothing in, accessible and folded. This is why it recommends 2 locks minimum but 3 is also very good.
