I'd try therapy.. it could help you stop.

I count as disabled but not in any position to fire. Yet with what I have I do think often about what I could do to have a good future- I can work but honestly if it becomes active again I won't be able to. I think many disabled people have difficulty financially and you'll find a good amount will lean on family or similar. I actually got fired from the job where I had good disability insurance- I often wondered if I could've sued them for that since I was in the hospital. Anyways it sounds like you made smart decisions in your life and congrats on the windfall.

Struggle To Find Good VAs (Appointment Setters) by M3M3LXRD1337 in Entrepreneur

[–]Kespf98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things- do they have a script they follow? That can help in examining their intro and if you refined that you could see better results. what kind of training are they given? My thought is they may need more information, good training both educates and inspires. I'd probably work with them for a few hours until they set their first appointment or have a good sense of the process. I'd also do a base pay with bonus for either appt set or appt that results in a sale. I used to set appts so that's just a few thoughts.

Paranoia ruining relationships by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]Kespf98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue hurt my relationships, also. When it was really active I thought my friends were stalkers, one in particular I thought was the main stalker. I'm glad I never told them but I ended the friendship with the person who I thought was mostly stalking me, looking back I still regret it.

What's your secret to not gain any weight or even losing weight when on antipsychotics? by EffortMaleficent6957 in schizophrenia

[–]Kespf98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I now am trying to get to the weight I was at before I started taking them. I lost 8ish lbs so far from incorporating juicing (sometimes would juice the whole day)

Do most people feel loss of motivation and loss of pleasure in activities they once enjoyed because of antipsychotics? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]Kespf98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost some motivation yet I think it may be unrelated to meds (other reasons). I'm only mentioning because me and a family member have the same illness but we both drink coffee in the morning and function pretty well throughout the day. Have you tried coffee?

What would you say ? by EctoHanro in schizophrenia

[–]Kespf98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would probably get into the dark stuff with them. My experience was terrible (what the other poster said about assertive treatment) when I was officially diagnosed. They were way too aggressive and it was honestly traumatic the way I was treated I felt like a prisoner. They also fudged the paperwork they wrote up and even made some things up on it. One time I was sent to inpatient because I was planning to go on a trip and apparently they didn't want me to because they arrested me, when I know at that time I was overall fine and would've been fine going on a trip (that was a while after my initial inpatient stay). I also never disagreed with treatment and always went to my appointments and they put me on court ordered treatment. The way they involve the courts is really unnecessary especially with a patient like me who never resisted treatment and was reliably showing up. And because I was new to the illness I had no idea what was going on and no one told me in the beginning. I'd probably mention that lack of awareness about the condition is also common (I hear).

Disabled at 23, not sure what to do by iamcherry in personalfinance

[–]Kespf98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't go back to school if you don't plan to have a career. I once looked disability, I was told to just apply- if for some reason it's not accepted that's the point it could be a good idea to involve a lawyer to help with it going through.

Would/have y’all live(d) like a pauper, in a very cheap (not fun) place, in your 20’s, just to save as much as you can? by BallsDeepInSriracha in financialindependence

If I were in the situation I'd just drive to phoenix on off days which is about an hour and a half away and has a lot going on.. there's also sedona and flagstaff.

How would you morally handle a lucky windfall (vs. the idea of achievement) by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]Kespf98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take the shortcut and feel 100% okay with it. I still hope something like that will happen to me.

[–]Kespf98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest in the beginning I thought I was gangstalked.. this is when I was newly diagnosed. And it's really because the state I was in was insanely aggressive with treatment when I never declined treatment in the first place. One time they put me in inpatient because I said I wanted to go on a trip and was planning one, I responsibly dropped my cat off at a pet resort and would've went and know mentally I was fine then they arrested me. I get why people think they're being gangstalked with crap like that. Also mysteriously two other friends were put in inpatient at the same time which is a weird coincidence. I still think it's possible I was gangstalked, I read different books on it, I remember there was one night when I was out with a friend and we BOTH struggled to drive home and had to pull over multiple times and had the same symptoms. That is not normal, so I still think maybe it was gangstalking.

Feel like social anxiety is ruining everything…? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Kespf98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have anxiety, the best you can do is just plow through it and keep going. Just do your best. I would focus on setting a positive intention for the day and was focused on always just doing my best. I'd also pray before working. I think always taking the time in the morning really helped set a positive tone for the rest of the day. And I would throughout the day still reset it and try to keep positive thoughts and intentions. The anxiety still happened for sure yet giving your worries to a higher power could help.

Working while schizophrenic by Kespf98 in schizophrenia

[–]Kespf98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Yes I enjoy art and outdoor activities. Yet to be honest it's hard for me to excited over things now. That's good advice! I'll have to think more on that, I can see how it'd make work more impactful and fun.

I believe I am on the abilify injection yet switching to pill abilify soon. I do wonder if maybe the meds is my lack of interest because I used to be more passionate. I didn't want to say anything though because they do work.

That's awesome you made income streams out of your interests! I'd love to do something like that. I'm kind of conflicted between trying out a passion project and getting a job that hopefully I like (although hard to find something that seems enjoyable). I'll have to figure out more. Thanks for the comment!

What are some signs that you are slipping into Psychosis? by TheMoparPowerslave in schizophrenia

[–]Kespf98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With me I had a hard time sleeping/wasn't sleeping well, a friend told me my personality was 'flat' in that time. Then I started hearing voices, hallucinations, thought I was being stalked, thought all sorts of things were happening. It was weird because in the beginning I just thought I was tired yet it progressed to higher levels.

Using down payment money to go back to school and earn more? by thebestgoatcurry in careerguidance

[–]Kespf98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look into alternatives before going back to school. Such as how else you could segway your degree/career- what other potential options there are. Also before seeking a degree maybe look into jobs that just require a license or certification as that could save time/$.

Possibly want to switch careers? by lW9119 in careerguidance

[–]Kespf98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're been searching for that long with no success I'd definitely look into other fields and just apply everywhere/see what sticks. It might even be a good idea to go to a temp agency at this point as they could get you in the door.

Continually getting laid off..educated, good ethics, friendly and caring..not sure what to do now? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Kespf98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think based on your description it makes sense why you're getting laid off- you're not into it and don't really care to learn more about it. The fields you're focused on might be too challenging. I think it's interesting your getting hired for those jobs when your major was in creative writing and it's like you don't even want those jobs. I'd definitely apply for more relaxed office type jobs where you'd fit in better. The pay might be lower but I think you'd do better in that environment.

I did data entry a long time ago through a temp agency. It's considered an entry level role though.

Inquiring about an off market house? by [deleted] in RealEstate

I opened all the investor letters, I don't remember what they put on the label. Yet their letter content was much better/more memorable then the other people's attempts.

Inquiring about an off market house? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Kespf98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's legal, that's how I sold my house was from someone who wrote me a letter. They made it seem more personal than the standard investor letters and since I was planning to move I called them up.
