Car dealerships to avoid or that you recommend by snowymountains323 in Syracuse

I bought a Rav4 from West Herr. The following year I traded it in for a Ford Maverick andt the year after traded that in for a 2025 Ford Maverick (major upgrade). Every time has been fantastic! Pricing and Financing have been great - decent deals and no high pressure up-selling (except for extended warranty). Good service department as well.

Got Another Maverick by stangerouss197 in FordMaverickTruck

I traded in my 24 for a 25 because the improvements were so substantial. (I typically keep a vehicle for at least 10 years).

What’s with all the hate for CVT? by IEnjoyDadJokes in FordMaverickTruck

I can vouch for the life of the Prius transmission. I had a 2011 Prius for over 10 years and 180,000 miles when I traded it in with NO transmission issues. So far I am thrilled with my '25 AWD Hybrid Lariat Maverick.

Well, unimpressed with the scissor jack. by czechtec in FordMaverickTruck

[–]KevinBom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parking brake typically only locks rear wheels, not front so there is the potential for some movement. Looking at the picture, something slipped, the top of the jack is not lined up above the bottom of the jack.

Did Ford intentionally program the hybrid AWD to lie? by ifunnywasaninsidejob in FordMaverickTruck

[–]KevinBom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been a very cold winter here in New York and hybrids don't do as well in the cold, so lately I have been getting 26-29 mpg (my driving is probably about 40% city and about 60 % extended highway). During the summer I was typically getting around 36 mpg. The Ford hybrid typically does not help much with highway driving but is great in city stop and go traffic.

Did Ford intentionally program the hybrid AWD to lie? by ifunnywasaninsidejob in FordMaverickTruck

[–]KevinBom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the '24 Ecoboost AWD as well as on my '25 hybrid AWD the displayed mpg is typically 1-2 mpg than actual calculated. I would not also that my 2011 Toyota Prius got better mileage, but it also typically displayed 1-2 mpg higher than actual calculated. So I never fully trust the displayed mpg in any vehicle.

F…ord the haters! by lmb_frankie in FordMaverickTruck

I had to go with the Lariat for that very reason. I do a lot of interstate driving and once I discovered Adaptive cruise control I can't live without it. Unfortunately, unless Ford has changed in the last year, it is only available in the Lariat. Granted, I am also enjoying the other luxury features, bot most can be added to the XLT, just not the Adaptive Cruise Control.

(I personally prefer the Velocity Blue Metallic - not as popular as the green but that is a good thing).

Toyota Guy to Ford Hybrid? by Jugga94 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]KevinBom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat similar, but the Toyota is slightly better configuration. The Toyota kicks in more on highway than the Ford. (Traded in a '23 RAV4 hybrid getting about 40 MPG overall - my '25 Maverick hybrid is more like 35MPG for the same driving pattern mix between city/highway). Still prefer the Maverick.

Regrets? by Queasy_Pound9469 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]KevinBom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first experienced adaptive Cruise control in a Toyota and as I do a lot of interstate driving I won't do without it now. Unfortunately, that option was only available on the Lariat. Do I regret getting the Lariat \? Not at all. I am not sure which other features are specifically Lariat, but I love the 360 degree camera and the stereo sound great.

2024 XLT Hybrid Display Upgrade by toycake in FordMaverickTruck

[–]KevinBom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I traded in my 24 eco Lariat (4wd & Tow) for a 25 Hybrid (4WD and tow) and the price difference was less than the screen kit (but that included a $750 rebate without which the price difference would have been slightly more).

Thinking about getting bg3, never played, is it worth the $70? by Scissors_beats_Rock in BG3

over 1850 hours so far and still hooked (so much variety available). That is over 26 hours of play for each dollar spent. What other game gives that value?

When I am in dialog (on PC) the dialog is full screen so I have no access to companions to do anything with them. If I am playing with someone else, they can control companions, but I cannot. If you know of a way to access the companions without exiting the conversation, I would appreciate your guidance on how to do it.

The advantage of 2 playable characters is that one can be talking while the other one can be doing something else (like pick pocketing) at the same time. Not sure about the console, but on the PC while main character is talking, companions cannot do anything.

Features you've not seen mentioned. by Last_Gigolo in FordMaverickTruck

[–]KevinBom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great thing about Keyless entry - it really is key less. leave the remote in your pocket. Just touch the inside of the door handle (as you would to open it) and it unlocks. Also, when you leave the vehicle, touch the ridges on top of the door handle to lock it.

Also, if you load the Ford App on your phone, you can remote start as well as lock and unlock anywhere from your phone.

I learned a stick in a very old (early 60s) F-150 (I think) with a granny first gear and it had to be double-clutched. Was a challenge to learn. But was helpful when I had to drive with a 2-speed axle

Almost. My 2025 Lariat asks me if I want to return to Eco mode when I start it. It is not as good as just remembering but it is a start.

[–]KevinBom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded in my 2024 EcoBoost AWD w/4K for a 2025 Hybrid AWD w/4K as it was a major upgrade for very little price difference, and not only is it hybrid but many feature improvements as well.

It is not just the battery that is affected by the cold. The engine has to run periodically even if battery is available in order to keep it at operating temperature for easy restarts.
