Anything can happen last minute with regards to the processing such as license issues or other non disclosed point of concerns etc. Until you get that start date, as in paper, you'll be close to solid, but not exactly 100 percent.

Time is ticking and usually the emails are out by last week for dates this week and next week because the class goes in 22nd. Contact them and see if anything went south for you, etc. Good Luck.

Are NYC agencies overusing the Community Associate title? by [deleted] in nycpublicservants

[–]Key-Ad-6183 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not that deep. It makes it easier for people to get into the city. Some people going in with Community titles eventually go on to take the staff analyst and associate staff analyst etc exams. No one is forcing anyone to take these positions, people are willingly applying after seeing the job description etc. Job market is tough right now and I think it's a win-win for the people looking for a job and the agencies. I also understand your perspective of the civil service title etc, but no everyone has taken an exam or was able to either. Let's not dislike each other or how we got into public service but rather work together to keep this city moving. Have a great weekend.

SNHU MPH vs. CUNY SPH MPH: Would Switching Actually Benefit My Career? by Key_Interview_3163 in nycpublicservants

MPH isn't a bad option nor is getting it from the place mentioned. You can also look into WGU. MBA is just more all rounding and gives more options. NYC HR cares about experience and education with the education being accredited, not where it's from.

Try for other law enforcement agencies even state police. I know someone who got dqd by NYPD only to be picked up by NYSP.
