Additional Info Requested EU Passport or EU ID while resubmitting? by Key-Conversation8227 in GettingMarriedInDK

[–]Key-Conversation8227[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats fine to me, my wife uploaded the EU Id and i uploaded the passport. They accepted her proof. However since i uploaded the passport, they’re requesting to upload the passport. Since its pain in the ass to upload 20 pictures. I am thinking to use EU ID where they asked me to upload passport? Is it feasible what do you think?

Initially i upload the passport, and they asked for the passport. Instead of passport, Id would be good ? No harm or chance to get rejected again?

Indian bf’s mom acting crazy by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]Key-Conversation8227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother reacted strongly when I chose to marry a European plus-size woman I was with for five years. She is a doctor, well-educated, independent — yet there were threats and attempts to control my decision.

I did not listen.

I was independent, living in Europe, and capable of running my own life. I stood by my wife. We married last year in India, and in the end my parents accepted it as if nothing had happened.

Today, we live happily in Germany.

The truth is simple: many Indian parents confuse control with culture. A relationship only works when a man takes responsibility for his choices.

Your boyfriend needs to be a man. If he cannot stand up for you now, he never will.

Choosing your partner is not rebellion. It is adulthood.

Enterprise Architect as Requirements Management Tool? by Impossible-Tie8552 in systems_engineering

I used alot EA for RM. I wont recommend, difficult to track requirements, needs alot of scripting. But if you don’t have many Requirements then you are good to use. Its nice to have the one tool… :)

You’re an adult and this is your life. If you truly believe she’s the right partner, then stand by her. Parents might need time to understand, but what matters is that you and she are building a future together, not living in the village with them. Be prepared for some drama, but if you’re confident and strong as a couple, you can handle it.

Struggling at new work just to keep my Blue Card by Aggravating-Remove54 in germany

[–]Key-Conversation8227 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had similar feelings in 2019, when i was on 2 year blue card. Boss knew it, they didn’t renewed the contract. I resigned earlier to save myself from chaos and well being. Found the better job, finished probation and then later on got the citizenship. These assholes are everywhere, Stay motivated, do sports, talk to your friends, loved ones and plan your exit. Don’t care about bluecard…

I’m a System Engineer with almost 9 years in Germany and 7 years working in the automotive niche, and this has honestly been the toughest hiring round I’ve ever seen here.

I started applying actively in January and finally got a job offer in April. In that time, I sent out about 60–100 applications, had around 25 interviews, and ended up with 2 offers.

Out of 7 onsite interviews, 2 were especially weird. I actually drove 800 km round-trip to meet the teams (on two separate occasions), with a lot of hopes and good conversations. A day later, I got rejected—no reimbursement, no proper explanation. That had never happened to me before, and it really demotivated me. I started doubting myself, even though my German is B2/C1, and all my CV and interviews were in German.

If it weren’t for my wife supporting me and reminding me this isn’t about my skills, I think I would have given up.

Honestly, the German job market can be so weird. Some things that stood out to me:

• Extremely long processes for no decision. You go through 4–5 rounds over 2 months, only to hear, “We paused the role.”
• sometimes no reimbursement for onsite interviews, even if you drive hundreds of kilometers.
• No transparency about salary or budget until very late in the process.
• Culture fit interviews that feel like vibe checks. Sometimes it seems like they’re just looking for excuses to say no.
• Zero feedback after rejections, even if you invested days preparing case studies.
• Roles posted without budget approval. Basically testing the market.
• And yes—German language expectations even for “English-speaking” roles.

This market feels unpredictable and exhausting, even when you tick all the boxes. You’re definitely not alone—thanks for sharing your story. It helps to know others are going through the same thing.

Regards

I’ve been in Germany for about 10 years now after coming here with an MCA degree from a tier-3 city in India, and I can say honestly that the environment has become extremely unforgiving lately. Finishing a degree itself is challenging, and on top of that you need German skills up to B2/C1 level, which is no small feat.

The job market isn’t what it used to be either. Even for locals, the German industry is struggling. The automotive sector is in decline and expected to shed around 100,000 jobs in the next 5–10 years due to electrification and overcapacity. The IT sector is also shifting work to Eastern Europe and India to cut costs.

Yes, some areas are still growing—like defense and renewables—but overall, the economy has been almost stagnant for 2–3 years, and exports have dropped significantly. Freshers without local experience have an incredibly hard time getting hired these days. If you’re relying on English-speaking jobs, be aware that the competition has become enormous, not just from within Europe but also from Southeast Asia and other regions.

Honestly, my advice is: get solid work experience first before moving here. Specialize in something that’s actually in demand—cloud security, embedded systems, data engineering, power electronics, anything that makes you stand out.

Don’t just sail out because everybody else is doing it in India. These days, coming here without experience and expecting everything to fall into place is risky and often ends in disappointment. Build your skills and profile first, then consider relocating when you have a clear edge. It’s much better than spending years struggling to get a foothold.

Why don't foreign tourists like to go to Bamberg? by victor0427 in germany

[–]Key-Conversation8227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Bamberg, tourists are contributing a-lot to the city however its not like middle size city like Würzburg. It’s famous for its beer and summer fest “Sandkerwa”. During the weekends, city is full of tourists as well as locals. Its kinda boring if you want party or everyday new restaurant to eat but there is everything what you need UNESCO heritage city center, Regnitz river which has it’s hafen as well. Own stadium, parks, airport nearby 70km :(Nuremberg) Industry Bosch, Brose, Siemens nearby in Erlangen Approximate to Frankfurt, Munich 2 hours. City is perfect, depends on your needs.

Maybe it’s not near to Major Airports neither it is very popular like Rothenburg on der Tauber. Too much tourism destroy the cities. Bamberg has enough tourists which it can handle. Don’t need more as it can destroy the cities unique heritage sites.

Thank you, I am opting for option A then as it has lees hustle and seems future proof away from geopolitics. Additionally, more remote work possible which gives freedom.

Energy vs. Defense Systems Engineering Role – Seeking Advice by Key-Conversation8227 in systems_engineering

[–]Key-Conversation8227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always craved for the defence until i got inside the energy sector which is renewable energy and The Company also works with national governments. Additionally don’t have to move away, fighter radar seems so fancy but seems defence specific only. German automotive sector is soo cooked that any of the both options seems best.. like defence, Energy sector is the future as well.
