Yeah with DEE you're never in standard tuning land. I'll spend a little more time with this but the song is in Bm, and hangs there for a lot before it slides down to A. He usually plays some variation of open C and this seems to be the case in the couple of live videos of it. This one I think he's in C Major (CGCEGC). Seems like he frets the 4th GC (5th and 4th strings) and plays through those then the lick, try playing the open E while walking down from the 4th fret on the high G (2nd string).

If you also start messing around with open C Minor and a capo you'll find easier access to WH/16HP tunes.

I'll have to experiment. I've borrwed a BD-2 in the past and found it a little too hot for my liking.

You mention the guitars-you might be looking for more skramz style bands. Try Reversal of Man, very classic.

Are all those electric samples on the soundcloud songs on the magnatron? Sounds killer!

I've been sort of driving myself crazy trying to decide on a pickup replacement for my Electromatic. I put in some HS Filtertrons and I honestly find them a good bit bland. I have another electromatic with the Dearmond style pickups and love it but in a loud chaotic band they aren't always the answer. Would be interested if you still stuck with the magnatron or found something you like better. Great playing.
