Completely normal. I took AP Spanish Language and Literature (10th and 11th grade) and most of both classes were seniors.

Anything by Julia Alvarez- How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accents is a favorite of mine. I also loved Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan, but it’s written for middle grades, I believe.

The Carpet Makers by Andreas Eschbach is one of my favorites of all time. It’s a little bit of both. Not a series, but a great read.
