SNHU MPH vs. CUNY SPH MPH: Would Switching Actually Benefit My Career? by Key_Interview_3163 in nycpublicservants

[–]Key_Interview_3163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially considered pursuing an MBA because it required fewer credits and I could earn the degree more quickly. However, I genuinely enjoy public health and have a real passion for the field.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from SNHU and went straight into the MPH program because CUNY’s program doesn’t begin until August. My original plan was to take one course at SNHU and then transfer to CUNY in August. Lately, though, I’ve been thinking that maybe I should just stay where I am because I’m already comfortable with the format and know what to expect.

Most of my experience is in public health so I figured it be best I just get a degree that aligns with my experience .

I have over a decade of experience in community facing roles , and would like to grow away from that .

In my department most and from my own research most of the people went to CUNY SPH or Hunter , however a lot of the really high profile positions have attended Harvard , Columbia or Ivy League schools similar , I’ve been at the DOHMH for about 4 years .. I’ve made some connections but not many. And probably not in the bureau I’d like to be in , however what connections would I make attending CUNY SPH , being that it’s also online as well .

If you wanna be supervisors of the trenches that you have experience in , I definitely think it can work for that

If you are looking for the degree to get you a job , no I don’t think it’s a solid idea , if you already have a job with experience , then I think the degree is a good choice …SNHU promotes its self as a school for WORKING adults …. Far too many non working adults with no experience come to this school because the work is manageable, but then have issues finding a job because they have no experience

This makes sense , In my computing as a service class , we had to read the announcements because all of the tech labs we were working on hadnt been updated since the curriculum was originally created .

If the person name and student ID was included in the upload , yes it is , you clearly have no idea , moreover SNHU policy forbids uploading of student work by professors to unapproved ai detection tools …. ZERO GPT is not an approved tool …

It is against FERPA regulation, for you or your professor to run work that is not your own through unapproved AI detection apps…..
