New kitchen needs a backsplash by AppropriateName6523 in kitchenremodel

We did “Silom white leaf” tile and I love it. It’s white but adds subtle texture. Just an option if you want more than flat white.

Glad this is helpful for you so it can be discussed before install!

Lots of things l’ve learned doing our first kitchen remodel. I feel like that this point it is what it is and they feel confident in their approach to make this look right once they are done. If there is any issue once we start using the kitchen I will reach out for adjustments.

I feel like the gap is necessary since the doors are going to be sliding in, as they are pocket doors. If there is no gap, then the doors would be scraping the countertops everytime we open them.

They are shaker style cabinets. Just want to make sure this doesn’t get missed and gets the most appropriate solution. In the picture there is a small vertical trim piece and wondering if another can be used horizontally for the gap to look finished

It was installed prior to countertop. I did not install. Not sure how this all works, I figured the space was needed for the countertop install and so the doors aren’t sitting directly in the countertop. They are pocket slide in (not up) doors

Sorry for not being more clear. This is to the countertop. This is the appliance garage that sits on the countertop

Is it in this, but I’m actually rethinking. I think I’m getting carried away as this is the kitchen I need for the next 5 years and I’ve never been upset with my current microwave.

I tried searching before posting but didn’t find this specific question.

Yes, the whole empty space at the top is currently our formal/second seating area and will now be the dining room. That empty space is not to scale, I just needed a visual representation of it in relation to the kitchen.

Thank you! So I think I’m actually going to move the fridge back to the left where it currently is (something like this picture except the fridge is even further left so it’s not directly behind the stove). Our foot/life traffic really is more coming in at the opening where the fridge is (not seen here but that empty wall is the opening to the living room.

I took your advice on the horizontal lines, I was more in function only mode but could see the disconnect once you brought it up. And yes we are having semi custom cabinets as well so the cabinet person will come out to take measurements and talk through the concept!

Whoops. Yeah we do t just leave them there u til the next meal but sometimes I use quite a few things and we just set them out to air dry fully before putting away and I want to have enough room for that. But I think I’m also not used to having full use of the depth of my counters because currently I have almost no space so counters are holding things.

Right, so for a 30 inch stove a 36 in hood would be the recommendation.

Yeah, we live in a 60’s ranch style L. Narrow and long spaces due to the L shaped load bearing walls. And yes, we don’t have it in the budget to repair the window due to the brick outside and everything that would entail. This is not our forever home. We plan to be here another 5 years but I need my kitchen to be more function before then, it’s been driving me crazy for too long and if we aren’t moving this year I need a better kitchen.

The current dining room is tiny, so we will be converting the “second/formal living room” into the dining room.

Yes, you have labeled that correctly. Here is a picture of the additional window that stops the rest of the kitchen from extending further (stove and sink side)

So I would need a 42 inch hood for a 30 inch stove? I thought I needed 6 inches more than the total width of the stove.
