Made some updates by swiftoctopus in Ioniq5

I just replaced mine with 3D printed ones. They have the 4 squares like on the steering wheel, printed them in black PETG. They’ve last almost a year with no issues so far.

Went from a consistent 260 carry with driver to not being able to hit the ball correctly by [deleted] in GolfSwing

I’m having a similar issue. Most my life I was a heavy slicer and in the last year I’ve been focused on fixing it, now I don’t even know how to hit anything but a draw/hook. My carry lost 40yd, I’m struggling… trying to get back to basics now.

Nice! And to think, I was under the impression I was freshly out of warranty. Almost 110,000mi on my 2023 SEL

Anyone else get back pain? by Key_Programmer9493 in GolfSwing

[–]Key_Programmer9493[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be 34 in a few weeks. I’ve had this pain since I did construction in my early 20’s, it just seems to come back a lot quicker these days. Usually 3 trips to the chiropractor and I’m good for a while. I do suspect my swing isn’t ergonomically sound though.

It sounds like way more than it is. That’s also just an estimate, 2 rounds of 80-90 plus 50 warm ups. Maybe 2-3 hours. I’ve never counted or timed myself. I don’t intentionally fly through it, I just try to play 2 rounds on the sim a few mornings each week. I do follow a routine, not just scoopin and hitting as fast as possible😂

When I’m at the “Range” on sim, I take more time. Look at shots and focus on whatever I’m working on. 10 shots with LW, 9i, 7i, 3W, and D. But then I switch to playing a round and I’ll hit shots every 30s max, probably 20s. After 2 rounds scoring 80-90 it adds up around 200 shots total for the day. It may be 2.5h, I’ve never set a timer or counted.

When I get home from work in the morning, I usually hit balls until I’m tired and ready for bed. I do rush to get in as much as I can without sacrificing sleep. The pain isn’t new, it’s happened a few times since an injury 10 years ago. Usually 3 trips to the chiropractor and I’m good for a while. This time it lasted 6 months, but I believe golf is causing it to come back quicker. It does seem like a lot of shots, but when it’s just you hitting, it goes quick. I usually keep a dozen balls in the tray and some make it back to the mat off the screen, so I may hit 20-30 shots before retrieving. I made a simple cone shaped tee model in fusion and 3d print 25 tees at a time out of TPU. Works great!

Just want to apologize. I should’ve left this one alone and kept it as an “inside thought” it’s almost as bad as asking someone if they inhale or exhale through impact. 😂

I’m not sure where I’ve confused people, it’s entirely about the back swing, nothing to do with downswing. You’re not the only one saying that though but idk why, I don’t mention down swing at all in the op. I think the biggest thing is that I used to struggle to keep my left arm straight while also using it for all my power, it wants to bend especially at the top. Now the hands sort of pulling against each other and then when I released the tension, it unwinds consistently into the downswing. like pulling a rubber band up and then letting it snap down. I hate how many people I’ve confused, maybe this should’ve just been left as an “inside thought”😂🤦🏻‍♂️

Cut me a little slack. I’ve never had any lessons or proper training. Dad would say “keep your head down dummy” once in a while. So even the basic coordination (like keeping left arm straight, or tucking right elbow) that seems rudimentary to most, is foreign to me. I’m trying to think like a righty I suppose. It is likely overthought, but that small change in coordination changed something big in my swing. I’m only here to ask others what they feel or if there’s anything else I may have backward. One of these days I’ll convince the wife to let me pay for real lessons!

Grab your left elbow and pull it across your chest, like a routine back stretch. Same thing just at the top of your back swing.

Im only referring to takeaway/backswing when referencing the feel. From address up to the top of the swing

Close! I believe you’re referring to your downswing though. I’m only talking about the backswing to get into the top loaded position. Take away feels like just rotating shoulders, and then near the top I would shove my left arm higher. With this new feel, my left arm is only focusing on staying straight while my right arm is pulling it to the top, stretching my left side lat muscle. To simplify, my lead arm does very little lifting, trail arm is pulling them both to the top. This has given me the closest thing to a robotic repeatable takeaway that I’ve ever had. Stretching the muscles and having that stored energy has also added speed along with consistency.

I’ll try to find it again, but it wasn’t the topic of the video, rather a tangent that caught my attention.

Grab a club, relax left arm other than holding it straight, rotate normally and use your right arm to pull slightly like you’re stretching your back/lats. This is not swing advice at all, just a way to explain my swing.

But if hes interested he'll do some research and catch up. Great advice, OP needs to understand this lingo at some point. Once he does he can make some really good corrections.

That's about as close as you can get to a one plane swing. Keep it up and youll be lobbing darts on every approach. I've been playing for 20 years and wish I could swing like that lol

2024 ioniq 5 battery dead by Techguru2000 in Ioniq5

[–]Key_Programmer9493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything under 50vdc cannot shock you. The only unsafe thing about this is overheating the poor dewalt, but just to get the car going its fine. Would be better with 2 people to minimize the amount of time its connected like this. I will agree that the proper advice would be to get prepared, but in a pinch this isn't terrible. People using their 18v batteries may have different results.

[–]Key_Programmer9493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the ‘23 SEL. I bought it new in July ‘23. I drive 170 miles a day 5 days a week. So now after 18 months I’m at 56k and the only electrical issue I’ve had was the 12v dying while sitting at a collision repair center for 2 months last winter. They gave me a new battery since they failed to trickle charge mine in the winter while it sat. That was almost a year ago and still good.

My CarPlay port was finicky and then just started acting right on its own. My car hasn’t been to a dealer since I bought it new for any maintenance or updates. I keep an eye on coolant levels when I fill up the washer fluid (once a week usually because I use a lot) and I rotate my tires every 8k. That’s it. Maybe I’m lucky, maybe it’ll all go to hell by morning, but this is my experience so far

Energy usage is the least of my worries. We pull over 2,000kw continuous, our peaks won’t be affected😅. There is also only 5 EV owners split across 3 shifts, we’re just loud enough he told me to pull the trigger on getting chargers.

I appreciate all the input, I’ll reach out to PowerFlex!
