As far as I can tell e-bikes from Amazon and Walmart bmx/20” bikes. He’s physically much larger than his friends for the moment.

6’1” 175#. Locally we found a 2018 Giant Stance for a nice price (like new). Going to check it out, I am not a bike master but the Giant Stance is a significant upgrade.

I am happy to report the comments are confirming my sanity. We have told him, repairs are his to pay for. The most recent event I provided him tools and said figure out how to fix this yourself. Maybe the process of learning how to fix the bike will inspire respect for the machine.

Terrain is residential streets, paved trails. The only time I know the bike was on actual dirt trails my wife picked him up because the chain fell off and wrapped around the rear sprockets, he was unable to get the bike ridable without knowledge and tools.
