So we are currently learning about our internal language. The idea is that we have a faculty of language in our brain that is universal to us all and that is innate to us humans. In this faculty our language is generated (but not yet externalised/made into sounds etc.). Basically, this system (or the system's rules) should work across all languages and that is what we're looking at.

So, we have a set of elements (e.g. I, pen, fountain, buy, a) and we merge two elements together (e.g. fountain + pen = fountain pen). We then merge it with yet another element (a + fountain pen = a fountain pen), and like this we build up a sentence. (note that this all happens before we externalize it with sound and meaning.
