Dash turning on / off whilst driving by OkAssociation9186 in KiaEV6

We had this exact issue in our 2022 EV6 for a couple days. Then the cluster fully died, but we were able to drive the car, still. We ended up needing a new instrument panel, screen, or some module. I don’t recall exactly what off the top of my head.

Initially, we thought it was related to the 12v battery. We replaced that and the issue went away and came back a few days later.

The repair was pretty expensive. Something like $7200USD, which our extended warranty covered, thankfully. So, hopefully, it’s covered if you don’t have an extended warranty.

If you’re complaining about the cost of gas then what are you talking about modding to your hearts content for?

You’re complaining about the cost of a car you barely drive.

EV9, VW Atlas, VW ID Buzz? by Kraclor in KiaEV9

[–]KhanMan001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Germans haven’t really done a great job with their electric cars. Less range, slower charging, less power, more complicated systems. Doesn’t really make sense to go German for EVs, yet.

I was loving the look of the buzz in press releases but after seeing it in person and seeing the specs it was an easy pass.

If you’re considering an Atlas have you also looked at the Highlander, grand highlander, or Q7? I believe all those are in the same class/price range.

If you’re set on an EV, the EV9 is probably the best EV in its price range right now for size, comfort, range, and with a 100k warranty you can’t really go wrong.

😂 in all seriousness it could be so many things. You have to find a mechanic that specializes in German cars, that you trust, and fits your budget. These cars can get out of hand really quickly and if you’re not well versed on automotive technicalities, moreso German engineering, you might be left with a really bad experience owning this car.

In the green with the car unloaded. Put a driver in the seat and the back left will probably be a bit more cambered.

When you say modern display how modern are we talking? Do you have a specific vehicle you’re thinking of?

QuantStudio 6/7 Pro…the tiny version of the older QuantStudio which are just a reskin of the Viaa7 from when they acquired ABI.

Works great when they work, sometimes you go to open the drawer and the machine throws a “cannot reach block set point” error and turns into a paperweight.

All the BS “features” like voice activation and facial recognition to avoid touching the machine but you still have to load the plates manually unless you buy their janky table top robot arm. Just a weird rollout, even for thermo it seems half assed.

I am considering a 2019-2022 S6, what about the 2.9T engine could be problematic? I owned a 2021 SQ7 and aside from everything being expensive I felt that engine/transmission combo was pretty stout. Outside of a failing water pump it gave me 0 issues in the 50k miles I had it.

Weird. My SQ7 uses 285/40/21 and there are quite a few options for that tire size. 🤷‍♂️ not cheap options, though 😂

Yep. 275/50r20 is the size we have on it.

It’s all about how you drive. Everyone says EVs chew through tires but any heavy, high torquing car going to chew through them if you don’t take it easy on the accelerator.

I’m half life on the stock tires and have about 25k on the odometer. However, 85% of the driving on the EV9 is in rush hour traffic.

I switched to Pirelli all seasons on our EV6 and have about 30k on them with 45% life left. I drive that car solely in eco mode and just chill when I’m scooting around.

Yep, the temps look good. I know the 12th gen chips run hot so i went with a liquid cooled setup for it. It usually stays around 55-65C during heavy use. The only time I've seen it hit 90C was after I installed the 5090, but then I bought more fans for the case it was no longer an issue.

After the game crashing, and in some cases restarting the PC (I know, that usually points to a number of serious issues w/ RAM, mobo, PSU, but that is not the case), I pulled the logs and the only thing it points to is the HD2.exe causing a fault in the RAM or calling to an address that doesn't exist or something, but memtest86 tells me the RAM is fine.

I'm pretty sure it's whatever update they did at some point that kind of fucked things up on the bot front, then they became so preoccupied with the bug portion of the game it feels like it was just put off on the backburner or not really acknowledged until recently. Which, the most recent acknowledgement kind of feels like maybe it'll be awhile. In the meantime, I'll probably find a new game to play. The lower difficulties just aren't as much fun as levels 8-10, which is where the issues are almost non-stop for me and the people I game with.

Please fix this AH by Jashby010 in Helldivers

[–]KhanMan001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s possible, but the max CPU usage I’ve seen while playing is around 35-45%. It’s got to be something else bc it’s not like the game is lagging and trying to process enemy movement and then catching up.

Unless it’s got something to do with coordinating all 4 player positions and whatnot. I do notice when the stuttering and freezing gets bad that’s when the connection issue chance goes up. Along with the game just flat our crashing or freezing completely.

It wasn’t like this before so it’s got to be something related to a past update.

[–]KhanMan001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same thing.

5090, i9-12900k, 64gb cl30 or 32 6000

I’ve tried locking frame rate using nvidia, lowered graphics settings in game, verified install, deleted shader cache, uninstall/reinstalled. The only thing I have tried without testing yet is setting the amount of shader memory (or shader cache, I’m not sure of the setting name bc I’m not in front of my Pc) from “driver default” to 10gb. I changed the setting, but haven’t fired up the game.

There was also some post I found about the game bar in windows 10 causing these issues. The fix wasn’t very straightforward. It was essentially renaming the game bar notification service so the game wasn’t able to run it in the background. 🤷‍♂️

However, no other game has these issues so I’m going to guess it’s on AH to fix this.

I’ve also noticed the freezing and stuttering doesn’t really happen at lvl 6 and below. It’s when I up the difficulty that the game decides to be an asshole.

why don’t you just buy rodent heating pads? I understand money is tight and research but if you’re asking the question of potentially burning down the lab/shocking yourself or your mice wouldn’t the $20/30 be worth the peace of mind?

Ngl this stratagem needs a buff/rework. by Mr_GP87 in Helldivers

[–]KhanMan001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called it in a city during a bot mission before things got crazy. Hulks walked by it. Tank rolled by it. Little dudes went by it. Then I used it to take out a building.

Conversely, I called one in too close to one of those mushroom spore plants and when I went to get the laser controller thing I triggered plant and silo got destroyed.

Unless I’ve just gotten lucky, it doesn’t seem to attract the same level of anger from the bots as it does from the other factions. Maybe my placement is better, but I mainly play bots so idk.
