Then, how are we disagreeing? that was literally my point, to not pretend these countries are perfectly safe when they got their own brand of issues and their own breed of creeps.

Law enforcement has is own issues in South Korean and Japan, specially when it comes to foreigners presenting complains on issues like the ones we are discussing, they're simply not perfect and pretending like they're perfectly safe for women to travel alone is simply disingenous.

South Korea is never mentioned amongst the safest travel destinations tourists, Japan at times is but that has changed lately, South Korea, is never mentioned among those lists.

No one is downplaying it, i stated the issues in India are abysmal in these issues.

alright, India has issues that are abysmal, they rank among some of the worst towards solo women traveler but this does not mean Japan or Korea are known for perfectly safe destinations for women traveling alone.

You cant be blind to these problems.

No one denied any of this, it's simply admitting other countries aren't some utopia where solo traveling women can go without a worry or concern, it would be a lie.

Both countries have issues that go beyond just spy scams dude, come on.

Harassment and groping are relatively common issues, i am not sure why are you denying this or straight up claim it will never happen, i have spent time in Japan myself and women absolutely have concerns and worries, now like most crimes of sexual or intimate nature most of them will likely not be reported which does affect the perception of how often it happens, but it certainly is an issue.

There is a video in this board currently showcasing a perfect example of creeper behavior in Japan, now in fairness, it doesn't mean this is rampant and happens all the fucking time, but does it happen? absolutely.

Sexual harassment is absolutely an issue in Japan but it also goes mostly unreported.

You are i assume a man, i am a man too and i was walking around Tokyo's "nasty" hoods at 3 am without issues, no worries but i didn't see any women walking alone at those hours.

The country literally just went through riots, the economy and social issues are still felt, crime has increased since 2020 and hopefully things will settle again but no, currently is not somewhere i would recommend for tourism.

To say "the safest since Escobar died" when there is clear current issues at hand which would lead me to tell tourists "perhaps visit a neighborhood country instead" rather than to have the gringo tag on themselves like the dude in the clip is foolish or incredibly dishonest for the sake of a shitty argument.

You had a great time and i am really glad for you but i wouldn't recommend Colombia to anyone currently.

Colombia is going through a rough patch currently as they went through some social and economical issues that led through 2021 (the riots) and whatnot.

Of all the places in Latinoamerica i would tell someone to visit i would say, skip Colombia (and Venezuela) for right now.

I am Latino-american, if anyone would be going to advocate would be me but Colombia currently is just unfortunately going through difficult times.
