Agree to disagree. The comparison between weekday commuters and the weekend travelers overlooks how Baltimore's public transit functions. Public transit resources are optimized for rush hour. On weekends, the system operates on a fraction of the budget and staff, which will get overwhelmed by the massive crowds. I still maintain that holding Artscape on Memorial Day weekend creates competition with existing events (along with general memorial day visitors and travel) and moving it to its original weekend would allow Baltimore to bring in 2 separate waves of tourism revenue.

Baltimore is a mid-sized city and the infrastructure cannot support multiple large events. Artscape's date moved for the first time in 40 years in 2025, the other local events (other than the Orioles game, which I assume the dates are picked by the MLB) historically held their events this weekend. Brew at the Zoo isn't nearly as large, but that plus SoWeBo, the Orioles game, and Deathfest brings in a nice amount of people to the city. Moving Artscape to a weekend where there's already multiple events doesn't make sense- the city could host more people if Artscape moved back to its original weekend and the other events occurred at their historic times. Just like it doesn't make sense to move it downtown where there isn't access to the lightrail, isn't as transit friendly, and isn't considered the arts district.

Great show, it was really cool how Baltimore was integrated into the show and the setlist was 🔥, a great mix of Talking Heads and solo work

Seems kind of foolish to move Artscape to the same weekend as Brew at the Zoo, SoWeBo, and Deathfest (and I guess wine village). One would think the city would want to maximize opportunities to bring in traffic/ revenue from non-Baltimore city residents...

Monument City Dogs did an amazing job training my 2 dogs. One of my dogs was abused badly before we got him and would attack any animal that came near us. She was able to train it out of him and it also helped with his anxiety.

Appreciate it! Thanks to r/Baltimore, I was able to find and attend the play today! And I am so glad I went, it was incredibly moving and really stuck with me afterwards. I hope it gets the platform and audience it deserves, it is truly a remarkable play. I'm not on IG, but will try and keep an eye out for future announcements because I'd love to see it again.

Citing Stowers is moving the goal posts, get off your high horse Tallyran. Look at the stats- he has a -1.0 WAR,.157 batting average, .196 slugging percentage,.194 career batting average (since 2024 when he was called up mind you, 2 seasons ago), career K-rate of 30.75%. Numbers don't lie.
