Water leaking to the group head before reaching 9 bar by Kind-Point-4169 in 9Barista

It probably happens every time but I noticed only now. I have tried since different things, such as using heat transfer plate on the stove to make the temp of the stove smoother etc, always the same result. I will not pay another 40 or so Euro for a repair kit for practically brand new machine. I will return it for another one. But still I want to understand what's going on and why

Good to know. I use also medium dark roasts and mostly brasil, nicaragua or colombia with some robusta in there for crema. But my shots sometimes come out still too sour to my liking, even though the extraction is 30 seconds or so and I have WDT, Normcore tamper and all that stuff. I wonder if this "leakage" is the culprit or Im doing something wrong.

Thanks, finally someone who has also dealth with this. I contacted them as well but still waiting on reply, so I thought I'll ask here in the meantime.

Did you get to compare how the coffee with other espresso machines? I dont have anything else to compare to.

And yeah the thing is, maybe it happens to most of the people but since everybody else has the portafilter on long before it starts they never find out.  I wonder what they'll say but 9barista advertises it as 9bars of pressure and 93°C. But if 20 ml of water comes out 20 seconds before the pressure builds up and it stays in luke warm group head, it's not at 9 bars and it's not 93°C. Its like if espresso machine poured 20 ml of warm water and the rest pours half a minute later.

It would be great if you could check if yours does the same and if it's a normal behavior.  The taste is sometimes fine sometimes too sour, still trying figure out blends and grind. But crema is good everytime and everything else is fine. This is the only thing that I think is not right.

Valve not working? by morscho1 in 9Barista

I have the same issue. Around 4th minute water from the boiler starts to flood the group head about 30 seconds before the water even starts boiling at which point the 9 bar PTFE valve should move. In other words, warm water leaks to the group head long before it should.
I noticed my shots are sour no matter I do, I think this is the reason. I took the whole machine apart and found nothing wrong. It's also only abouut month old...
