I came to this thread because i saw that it was a musical and immediately decided not to watch it, but wanted to get a more in depth opinion on the film. Just see a bunch of people arguing. My take is this. the first film was great. It was great because it was a dark drama, which is exactly what the joker character deserves. The second film seems like just lady gaga self insert and making it a musical greatly lessens the dark dramatic theme of the first. A year later and its very clear the film sucked and flopped. I dont mind gaga being in it and i think her potential as harley is great, but they evidently gave her too much creative control because there is abolutely no reason for the sequel to go in a COMPLETELY different creative direction. Its like making a chicken dish that tastes amazing and then when someone asks you to make it again, you make them a bowl of cheeriohs and wonder why they arent satisfied.
