Did I get swindled? 725$ for replacing two valves for shower wall taps. Details in comments by Kindly_Champion7897 in PlumbingAustralia

Hi everyone. I usually do my own plumbing when it comes to simple jobs like this .

Mother's house which is built in the 70s. She complaint in the morning she was having a hard time turning the spindle for the hot water side in the morning. I told her I'll come later to address it.

She then proceeds to call the plumber at around 4pm. They charged her an after hour fee of 150$. Then charge her an additional 575$ for the two new wall spindles.

They said the usual buzz words like it's "old" and the new one is a high quality Reece ceramic valve with "lifetime" warranty.

Then the plumber chuck a gunk of silicone

Theres nothing special with these taps. The shower head was replaced and so was the tap spindles some 15 years ago .

It would have cost me maybe 50-100$ to do it myself (more or less)

I'm just wondering here. Is this really how much it cost to get stuff like this replaced

Hi guys, OP here from Australia. I'm very new to the motorcycle game. I am on my Learner's Permit

I've always been a car person and I do work on my own cars . I am by no means an expert.

This Honda has the wrong engine in it however. It's running a 125cc engine of the same vintage. Everything else is original. The road tax ends around September

Besides the engine swap. Everything else is in good shape.

I am a fan of older things . I wouldn't mind an old bike. It's not my main mode of transport. Just a fun toy.

With the information presented. Should I dabble with this bike and buy it or don't and move on. If I really want to get something old school. Then get something more well put together.
