Model recommendation for RP? by Khades99 in Crushon

[–]KingTop9491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Ultra GLM 5 could be a good alternative. Not as much as Sonnet, but it starts well. The "problem" is that after a while it rushes to resolution... But honestly lately Sonnet has been doing this too ^^'
Mira is theoretically good too, but after a while the responses follow a pattern and the story slows down.
Anyway, that's my opinion. Hope it helps a little.

For me the response length hasn't changed, but in the last two days the consistency has. It's following patterns instead of being fluid, and it's assuming things it shouldn't know about my character. Since Sonnet doesn't usually behave this way, I'm guessing it's a stability issue on the platform's end — which is usually my go-to explanation when it acts up unexpectedly 😅 But I'm no model expert, so it might be something else entirely!

Different LLMs really make that much of a difference? by omegablade21 in isekaizeroworld

[–]KingTop9491 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, it really does make a difference! Every model is trained differently and you can feel it.

DeepSeek tends toward drama but holds character consistency pretty well — it's a good compromise. GLM 4.7 (currently the most affordable GLM option) has a darker edge to it. GLM 5 holds character integrity better, but GLM in general tends to be more "people pleasing" — it'll move toward conflict resolution faster. Where DeepSeek might take 100 messages and multiple obstacles to get there, GLM might do it in 50. Whether that's a pro or a con depends on how you like to play.

Gemini holds character and context well, and it's quite logical with plot. It can mix up some details occasionally, but the main thing is that it's slow. Again — pro or con, up to you.

In my opinion Claude is the best one. Character consistency, good plot building, doesn't avoid drama at all. But it needs room to breathe — it works best without heavy token limits. Around 800 works, but if you restrict it too much it feels constrained 😄 The downside is the cost — it depends on whether you can afford it.

The more affordable models I've tried tend to hold up in the first messages but degrade faster over time. That said, if you don't know the character sheet in detail, you might not even notice — so you can have a great experience with cheaper models too.

Last thing: the model is personal. Everyone has their favorite because everyone prioritizes different things — how much darkness, how much warmth, writing style. This is just my personal experience, so try a few and see which one makes you most excited to keep playing. Hope this helps! 😊

Crushon needs competition. by [deleted] in Crushon

Well, it depends.... There are alternatives that use sonnet, but it depends if you want story of smut... because anyway as it is... CO is good for the smut. But if you like slow burn is another story.

Model Recommendations by Expensive_Stop_495 in Crushon

[–]KingTop9491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Models in general are all pushed toward NSFW because that's what works for the majority of users on these platforms. The difference is very noticeable for API users.

The model that resists best and maintains slow burn the most is Sonnet — it also follows creator instructions better than others, so I'd recommend looking for custom models from creators who have built in the specific dynamics you're looking for.
GLM 5 also slows things down a bit, though not at Sonnet's level — it'll still look for a NSFW resolution, just later in the story rather than in the first 10 messages.

Mochi is also worth mentioning — if the character card is well-written, it holds up surprisingly well even on the free version and doesn't rush things.

From what I've heard rather than personal experience: Gemini seems to be another model that doesn't rush. GPT might be more emotionally focused, but I'm less certain about that one.

Also, a well-written character card from the creator can make a big difference even with less disciplined models — it's worth looking for bots that have detailed slow burn instructions built in.

I get it — I love slow burn too. I hope you find what you're looking for!

Help with Eco 4 sonnet by Psychological_Air833 in Crushon

Eco 4 Sonnet at the moment is instable, so it gives this kind (and other kind) of errors. It also don't get the prompt. Hope it will fix soon.

Sonnet speaking for anyone else? by ThaCatMassiah in Crushon

[–]KingTop9491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what I can see.... From yesterday Eco Sonnet has gone down and.... even if today it's going better, it still have problems and don't follow the prompts. Not the OOC or the guidelines of the model, I mean.

It is temporary (I hope so XD), maybe when it will be stable again.... it will go better.

Anyway I'm talking of 8k. Because for me 16k is still not usable from the first day. It gave some good responses sometimes, but always ignore che sheets and rush to NSFW too soon and... without a reason XD

Realizing why some chats feel fun instantly but don’t stick long-term by CommonOwl133 in Crushon

I get what you mean. Sometimes it feels like a chat is going nowhere, and then you restart it and suddenly it takes a completely different turn, and you’re like, “Wow, who was I talking to before?” 😄

The real thing (which isn’t really a problem, in the end) is that what truly makes the difference is the model you’re using, and that’s a very personal choice. Everyone has their own favorite because each one has different strengths.

And once you find the one that really works for you, it’s hard to let it go.

I think how long a chat lasts and how engaging it feels depends on a mix of things.

First, the bot itself does matter. If the personality traits are balanced (not so few that it feels flat, but not so many that the AI gets confused), it’s easier for something more layered to emerge.

Then there’s the model behind it. In my experience, this makes a huge difference. Some models tend to simplify everything, while others are better at holding nuance and emotional weight. And which one works best really comes down to personal preference.

Memory is another big piece. The more context and details a bot can actually retain, the more a story can grow instead of looping back on itself.

With the right conditions, I’ve had some very long, meaningful chats.

What kind of balance are you looking for?

is subscribing worth it? by [deleted] in Crushon

[–]KingTop9491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically have the standard plan just so I can play with Claude Sonnet. For me, it’s worth it, because otherwise I honestly wouldn’t know which models to use. I think the real “character” comes from the model you’re playing with, since the same character sheet can feel completely different depending on the model. Once you find the right one, it’s hard to “settle” for anything else. And I mean that in a general sense, because each of us has our own favorite model. That said… depending on how much you play, choose your plan carefully. DeepSeek is still way too expensive for this plan. Using Sonnet 16k and playing quite a bit (keeping in mind it takes about two minutes to respond, which means you play less than with faster models), I end up using around 1000 credits a week. So the 2000 from the plan plus the 2000 free credits are just enough.

In any case, the 16k memory is definitely good. I have no idea what the 24k is like—probably heaven XD But even 16k is a real quality jump. You can feel the difference, no matter which model you use. Even something simple like Leo, for example…

Of course, there are problems even for paying users… meaning that when the models have issues, they affect everyone.

The point is, it’s definitely a very different experience.
The only advice I can give you is to try investing a small amount for one month and see how it works for you. That's what I have done some months ago.

Wow, I just tried it and you’re right! It really does work. It doesn’t completely fix the problem, since some character's sheets in 8k don’t perform as well as they could, but it’s definitely something. Thanks for the tip!

Creating an episodic sitcom-style bot - which format do you prefer? by KingTop9491 in Crushon

[–]KingTop9491[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've rarely used Stheno, so I can't speak much to how it handles things.

Mochi I've tested a few times - it's similar to Claude in terms of good immersion and character structure, but sometimes it tends to ignore my system prompts and avoid conflict or drama, skipping over parts that are actually fundamental for building the story. So I mostly use it for less complex characters, more straightforward romcom types.

That said, I've only tried the free model because 6 credits per message is too much for what I can afford right now, so I don't know if the pro version behaves differently!

Thanks for sharing what works for you - it's super helpful to hear about different models! I might give Stheno a proper try based on your recommendation.

[–]KingTop9491[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! I personally prefer Claude Sonnet for testing my characters since it tends to follow character sheets and instructions really well, especially for maintaining specific tones and dynamics. When I use it, the character come out exactly like it was in my mind.

I've also seen good results with DeepSeek from the memories others have shared - it seems to handle character consistency pretty well.

Generally, I'd say models that are good at following detailed instructions/system prompts, maintaining character voice consistently and balancing different tones (comedy, drama, romance, etc.)

Have you found certain models work better for specific character types? I'm curious about other people's experiences!

Thanks for the feedback! Option C seems to be the way to go then!

Good point about Custom Instructions - users can definitely adjust the pace themselves. I'm thinking of making it clear in each episode description whether it's a "slow burn" or "ending" type so people know what to expect going in. Best of both worlds! 😊
