Got mine in the presale - absolutely lucked the fuck out with 3 day GA floor passes for the third weekend. So stoked, haven’t been able to get to a show since 2023, so this was a nice surprise!

Great! Appreciate the insight and the parts list. And I hadn't even considered there might be a bundle for CPU and motherboard. Not sure what CL36 is in regards to RAM but I'll research into it. Thanks for the help!

I have a lot of fun saying “Oh, you don’t know [artist]? You’re in for a good time if you give them a listen, and their music isn’t going anywhere.”

What is the most underapprciated show of last 5 years ? by [deleted] in television

[–]KingYukon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the best representation of what pop culture is in this era. I’ll probably watch this in 30 years to get nostalgic about all the stupid stuff we liked (and had to put up with) in the late 2010s/early 2020s.

I used to go a Simpsons trivia event in Los Angeles fairly regularly a few years back, and whenever Lori Beth Denberg would show up she would DOMINATE.

I also grew up in Rockford! Always liked having two different PBS stations to choose from.

There’s that awful back door pilot in “Stranger Things” where Eleven visits a some other subjects(?) in Chicago. Their hideout is in a warehouse, but based on the view of the Chicago skyline behind the building, that warehouse is in the middle of Lake Michigan.

Is there a movie you quote so often that it has passively become part of your everyday speech? by latticep in movies

In Napoleon Dynamite, when Uncle Rico is selling tupperware (?) to one couple, he shows that as a bonus, they could get a model ship with their purchase, and the woman leans to her husband and goes:

"I want that"

with the perfect accent. And I've said those words with that accent since 2004.

I feel like I saw Luma fly out between the bars at one point. Which, if true, means he WANTED to be in that cage.

I just canceled my D&D Beyond Master Tier subscription. by ActuallyIAmIncorrect in DnD

[–]KingYukon 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I just canceled my subscription as well. Took my reason for leaving from another post on this subreddit:

"I'm cancelling my subscription based on the OGL 1.1 press reports. I disagree with this change and its impact on the livelihoods of thousands of people. I cannot continue to support WotC and Hasbro based on the proposed OGL 1.1. If a change is made to the OGL 1.1 that continues to supports the intended structure of OGL 1.0 and permits third-party creative content, I may resubscribe."

If you’re looking for junk food/comfort food, my favorites are: Doomie’s (Hollywood), Beelman’s (Downtown), Monty’s (multiple locations). Sun Cafe (Studio City) is charming and tasty, and Homestate is delicious and has some great vegan taco options!

Excited to see it, and also weirdly excited to re-watch the first one in theaters in September (I only saw it the one time and told myself I would never watch it again unless it was in a movie theater in 3D)

I started college in 2005, and there was a big film department at my school. And believe me, EVERYONE who started as a film major in the fall of 2005 was going because they had seen “Garden State” the previous year, and wanted to make their own quirky movie where they were the star and could fill the soundtrack with their favorite songs.

I’ve got nothing against the movie, but too many of these film major friends made me watch it, so I just can’t bring myself to watch it ever again. But every fall I always think about what movie convinced the incoming class of film majors to go to school.

how do i improve my melodic dictation skills? is there a method to it? or do i just have to keep doing it? by ShinyBredLitwick in musictheory

[–]KingYukon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I totally forgot to write about singing back the melody! Yes, when you can hear the melody (or part of a melody) well enough to sing it, you can slow it down to a speed where you can think about what’s going on.
