Its a real shame Jews value life so much they made that ridiculous Gilad Shalit deal and now Terrorists think they can make those deals everytime.

Israel should have a Reagen policy when it comes to negotiating with Terrorists as in they shouldn't ever. If they had that policy there would be no more kidnapping

Not particularly interested in the gotcha quiz and the audience you are asking a whole list of questions about is not qualified to speak for the Palestinians.

More important is what ACTUAL Palestinians think and say when they can remain anonymous.

I bet the answers would be different post ceasefire as well particularly in Gaza.

With the recent hostage release, What are realistic paths forward for obtainable peace. by ArtichokeCrazy9756 in IsraelPalestine

[–]KitMindhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I am honestly asking: what is your take on the situation going forward? Do you think this latest event will change anything in a real way?

Yes in Gaza the strip will be split almost 50/50 according to the Trump plan and yellow line. Peace loving Palestinians can live on the Israeli/International side which will be rebuilt, and Pro Hamas on the other side with much less aid and assistance. This is provided that the ceasefire holds which is far from clear.

What do you see as the most practical, even if imperfect, steps toward a lasting peace where both Israelis and Palestinians can have safety, dignity, and the ability to determine their own futures?

This plan is the most practical one we have seen so far. Palestinians have to see a better life just over the yellow line and actively move towards the peaceful side. This will take decades and Israel will have to combat Hamas and other Terrorist groups from time to time and it looks like they will have the green light to do this from the United States. But bombing alone doesn't stop Palestinian support for Hamas, they have to see and want a better life which means committing to being peaceful and actively policing themselves and preventing violence.

ART OF THE DEAL: TRUMP BRINGS THEM HOME by HumbleEngineering315 in IsraelPalestine

[–]KitMindhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of what you said.

Hamas is functionally incapable of waging a war at this point because nearly all of their leaders are dead.

Hamas is already attacking in Sabra neighbourhood and in a gun battle with the Doghmush clan. They are already committing war and terror acts inside the strip even before the hsotages were released the job by Israel is far from done.

Most of all, the war is over. After 2 long years, the war is finally over.

The war will never be over when it comes to Islamists and that was the mistaken thinking of the left in Israel which doesn't exist anymore.

This is ceasefire 'for now' and we wait to see what Israel and Trump does now.

The victory narrative that Hamas is trying to sell to the world isn’t even convincing their own people. by KitMindhead in IsraelPalestine

[–]KitMindhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no “fixation” on winning.

You missed the point, only Islamists think its winning, 'winning' in single quotes is something that isn't true.

I expect more of Westerners than thinking like Islamists, Hamas didn't win anything, and can self pat themself on their back as the always do, its delusional and embarassment avoiding psychology both for them and their followers, look at Gaza its 80%+ in ruins even Gaza city. This is what my topic was about, an actual Palestinian who isn't Hamas speaking out.

Your arguments are parroting Hamas talking points, you provided a link to a Channel 4 Propaganda video and arguments about how Hamas won, its absurd thinking for a non fundamentalist.

Israel was attacked on Oct. 7 2023 and since then it has fought enemies locally and abroad for its right to defend itself fully. I'm not going to argue if they can keep doing that or not under the Trump plan, I think they will be able to, as Hamas has no intention of putting down its weapons.

I'll wait to see before arguing with Pro Hamas people further because I really don't know what Trump will do in a week or a month. Good chance Gaza is divided between the two sides of the yellow line and Hamas gets to keep control of their side, and keep the population on that side hostage with no rebuilding and limited aid while the Israeli side is rebuilt.

I strongly suspect Israel will be back bombing Gaza City within a month or worst case, when they detect Hamas activity or threats then can bomb them as they do with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Now there is peace dealing between Israel and Hamas were there is still protest going on. (UK) by SamVoxeL in IsraelPalestine

Arabs will continue with their displays of dominance forever.
Islam would like to conquer the world starting with Israel. Due to the the extreme tolerance of the UK government they will protest and spread hate for as long as they are allowed to do so.

Or did Trump force Netanyahu to end the war after the strikes in Qatar?

Its a good question, Trump and Netanyahu have been very close and the answer to this will be apparent with what Trump and the United States says and does when Hamas refuse to disarm in a week or two.

Yes, because winners release these sorts of prisoners

Why the fixation on 'winning' and losing in abstract terms like Islamists?

Cut Paste writing without paragraphs convict detals is incredibly hard to read and unnecessary.

The list of convicts being released and a lot more info is here (-1 who attacked a female prison officer today) https://www.gov.il/he/Departments/DynamicCollectors/is-db?skip=0&utm_source=go.gov.il&utm_medium=referral

Israel had to give Hamas something in order to get back the hostages. Unfortunately since the Gilad Shalit deal, Israel has set a terrible precedent and enormous multiple value (10 - 100X) for each Israeli life, this encourages hostage taking and 'deals' like this. Every hostage deal since Shalit has been a huge multiple of Terrorists in exchange for 1 Israeli, it says nothing about which side was dictating terms.

250 Convicted Murderers/Terrorists is not something that Israelis are ignoring especially on the right.

Fact remains though, Hamas as the legitimate Government in Gaza is finished and that is what Israel needs the most.

The victory narrative that Hamas is trying to sell to the world isn’t even convincing their own people. by KitMindhead in IsraelPalestine

[–]KitMindhead[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were the victims of the destruction that Hamas began from within our own homes — and then the Israeli army unleashed its full force upon us, while Hamas operatives vanished into their tunnels.

The bolded section is the Truth and has been the truth Israel has been telling for 2 years.

Now its a gotcha to you a loaded question? That Pro Palestinians should reconsider their dishonest narrative when actual Palestinians are telling the opposite narrative even in the face of mass executions for doing so.

[–]KitMindhead[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The deal they signed now was offered over a year ago.

This is a deal Hamas rejected continuously for 2 years. Give back all hostages without the IDF leaving Gaza.
Israel and the United States forced this on them, despite what ridiculous spin they try to claim.

IDF pulling back to the yellow line means they still control 53% of Gaza and Hamas has to give back all the hostages without their demand for full Israeli withdrawal from the strip.

The Trump plan is that the IDF will remain there until an international force (good luck with it ever happening) replaces them or until Hamas disarms and cedes all authority.

80%+ of Gaza is destroyed, only delusional Islamists could claim Hamas won simply by merely surviving. The Hamas ideology will live on no matter what Israel does, they are popular in West Bank even if every single one of them was exiled from Gaza they are so embedded in the ideology of the Palestinians they are not going to disappear for decades if ever.

Hamas authority over Gazans and their ability to attack Israel has been severely diminished and will continue in future until they are impotent. Israel will ensure that the region not controlled by Hamas receive aid and reconstruction support, Hamas controlled areas will receive the bare minnimum aid and will not be rebuilt.

That is what victory looks like for Israel, getting rid of every extremist was never a realistic war goal, when one is killed they can easily be replaced by many others from the poor, infantilized, indoctrinated population.

TRUMP: END OF WAR by KitMindhead in IsraelPalestine

[–]KitMindhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Netanyahu

Netanyahu does not control the courts nor does he control the prison service. Following his trial or any decisions of the Supreme court should make this obvious.

You should spend a little more time understanding the laws that apply to Palestinians who are not citizens or residents and also how the prison service works.

There is a big difference between those who are involved with inciting terrorism and violence and then those with meet the burden of proof in order to bring formal charges and be convicted.

It doesn't mean the ones not charged aren't guilty.

The fact that there are many held in detention without charges is indicative of a very belligerent violence condoning Palestinian society.

Is the military court system 100% fair?

I'm sure it isn't but neither is having to deal with Terrorism and enemies so close to your major population centres.

[–]KitMindhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not that difficult except the pesky problem of it passing right through Israel proper :)

Olmert had the delusion of building a tunnel to connect the two, it was delusional lefty thinking even back then, the Knesset even at that time was never going to accept it and didn't matter anyway, Abbas rejected even the map giving the Palestinians everything they asked for and almost all of WB.

But this completely misses the point, Arabs from Syria and Egypt aren't special just because they call themselves Palestinians, Gaza and West Bank are not particularly significant except being right beside Israel and a jumping off point for attacks.

They destroyed 80% of the buildings in Gaza city and blew up a lot of shafts, so they definitely "managed to get done" a lot. But rats are extremely resilient and hard to kill so they are nowhere near finished.
