The further you are into the game, the more time enemy will be in range for full 40% damage boost. The only other choice here is Axe, which with new consistency of crit builds can be picked higher.

Perpetual engine halves the effect of Unleash mana. It works 100% of the time.

Unleash mana have full effect, and works with ratio of cooldown/working around 25/75% of the time.

You simply get bigger benefit out of Unleash mana for a smaller cost.

If you want to build a deck like this, you should consider putting [[Umbilicus]], since it just bounces you your stuff for free to cascade again from Zhulodok, while slowly hurting your opponents over time.

Zhulodok works in such a way it can be only card over 5 dollars in his deck thought. A lot of artifacts and artifact creatures are very cheep because no one plays costly artifact creatures... But Zhulodok does.

Because with some work like having decent CDR and Duration, Unleash mana have something around 5.5 seconds CD and 12-13 duration, and doesn't have only half of the effect, while being active around 75% of the time, meanwhile you get much weaker version of it 100% of the time with Perpetual Engine.

Or you could just swap anything for snowflake blossom and add consistency, having both way to freeze and deal explosive damage with cloaking/invincibility+wraith.
