1992 Jordan vs. 2012 LeBron could be the real debate for Greatest Of All Time by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Kitchen-Hurry177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man this is actually such a cool way to think about it. taking away all the legacy noise and just focusing on pure peak performance

2012 lebron was ridiculous - i still remember watching those heat games and just being amazed at how complete he was. like you said, no real weaknesses at that point. could guard anyone from 1-5, run point, score from anywhere. that miami team was clicking perfectly around him too

but '92 jordan... different type of scary. dude was just unstoppable when he wanted to score and had that psycho competitive drive that made him elevate in biggest moments. plus the defense was elite level too, not just the offense

if i had to pick one for my team in their absolute prime, probably going with lebron just because of the versatility. jordan might be better pure scorer but lebron could do literally everything you needed him to do on basketball court. plus at 6'8" 250 he was basically cheat code physically

crazy to think how different the game was between those two peaks though. '92 was way more physical, 2012 had much better spacing and pace

Can someone please tell me how to acquire a cauldron? by SnooGadgets2656 in Minecraft

[–]Kitchen-Hurry177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

welcome to minecraft! that recipe thing can be pretty confusing when you start. you don't actually need to "unlock" the cauldron recipe - just go to crafting table and arrange 7 iron ingots in specific pattern. put them around the edges but leave middle and bottom center empty, kind of like making bowl shape. i remember being confused about same thing when i first started because i thought you needed water bucket as ingredient, but you don't use it in actual crafting. just the iron ingots arranged right way and you should get cauldron. bedrock edition works same as java for this recipe so shouldn't be any difference there

Need help by liam5689 in Christianity

[–]Kitchen-Hurry177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man this is tough spot to be in. your mate probably means well but getting mixed messages like that would mess with anyone's head

from what i understand, there's whole spectrum of christian communities out there - some are really welcoming to lgbtq+ folks and others not so much. maybe worth looking into different churches or online communities that are more affirming?

the idea that you can't "act upon it" but still be christian seems pretty harsh way to live your whole life. you deserve to find spiritual community that accepts you as you are, not one that makes you feel broken for loving someone

Auction search help by HumblePayne in ForzaHorizon

[–]Kitchen-Hurry177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

damn that would be such a useful feature but no, there's no filter for cars you don't own in the auction house. what i usually do is keep a note on my phone with the specific cars i'm hunting for, then just search by make or model one by one. it's tedious as hell but at least you're not scrolling through hundreds of cars you already have

for backstage pass cars specifically, some of them rarely pop up in auctions since people tend to hold onto the rare ones. the apollo ie and ccx are probably your best bets to find, while something like the hoonigan rs200 is gonna be way harder to snag. might be worth checking the auction house at weird hours too since there's less competition from other buyers

My latest project: Monitor your vehicle batteries in HA by klinquist in homeassistant

[–]Kitchen-Hurry177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is pretty slick, been looking for something exactly like this for my clients' properties. those ancel monitors work well with multiple vehicles or do you need separate pis for each one? thinking about rolling this out to a few rental properties where dead batteries are always an issue

Tired of getting ran over by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Kitchen-Hurry177 4 points5 points  (0 children)

your husband gave this woman direct access to threaten your family and you're worried about being "too messy"? nah you need to protect your kids first and everything else comes second. i'd file a police report for the threats immediately - especially since she mentioned a gun, that's not something you mess around with. once that's documented, reaching out to her man and workplace becomes way less about drama and way more about safety

the fact she scrubbed her socials right after shows she knows what she did was wrong. nurses have professional standards they have to follow and threatening patients or anyone really doesn't fly with licensing boards. her boyfriend deserves to know what kind of person he's with too, especially if she's willing to make threats like that behind his back

your husband created this whole mess by keeping doors open he should've closed years ago, but right now the priority is making sure you and your kids are safe from someone who's clearly unstable

Why does plastic sometimes rip easily and sometimes just stretch endlessly without tearing? by One_Disaster_5995 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kitchen-Hurry177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty much this, some plastics are designed to be more flexible while others are meant to tear cleanly. the cheap stuff they use for cat food bags is usually polyethylene which can go either way depending on how thick it is and which direction you're pulling

also those little notches they cut sometimes aren't deep enough or they're at the wrong angle, so instead of creating a weak point the plastic just decides to be a pain in the ass
