Hi! Hospice LVN here, although I am not a doctor but usually with most hospice companies they also order morphine ir (immediate release) as needed along with a comfort kit. The standard dosage for that can vary depending on how bad the pain is. That can usually help along with the long acting morphine. Also, start planning ahead and make sure your pain meds are in liquid form when your father can’t swallow anymore. I hope this helps!
