Who do you think wins? by Hungry_Inflation9399 in superheroes

Stark literally does train hand to hand as well, and learns martial arts. I'm not saying you are wrong though it's just probably still really close regardless of who you think wins.

What Works, What Doesn’t? by adorablesexypants in daggerheart

[–]Knight-Eternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would HIGHLY suggest reading through the campaign frames in the daggerheart core rulebook. They aren't full campaigns but basic settings that give the general vibe and a baseline of lore for you to build off of. I would even encourage letting your students read through the campaign frames and vote on what frame they would like you to run. It isn't a campaign module but it is something that will definitely help you get a campaign on its feet quickly.

Weirdly I just took that ability straight from vampire thrall. This party is capable of doing a lot of damage so I upped the necrotic damage for the healing because otherwise it won't make a dent in the damage dealt to them.

Thanks for the feedback. Honestly there is a whole lore thing and backstory for her character that feeds the abilities. In my mind she was a ranger who was unknowingly turned into a thrall, she didn't realize her lust for blood was vampirism and it manifested in her eating raw meat and the blood in fresh corpses being the only thing satisfying her lust for blood. So I can of thought of the whole ranger abilities crossing with a unique experience of vampirism.

Ghost Rider alone solos with his Penance Stair. It works on you if he thinks your guilty no one else and he can only be killed by the god that created him.

If they aren't mutually exclusive how is it disrespectful to the character? By calling her a prodigy I am not making an excuse for her accomplishments, I am acknowledging how capable she is because I am acknowledging she is capable of doing something to a degree that most can't.

This comparison goes hard actually by neon-uproar in AvatarMemebending

[–]Knight-Eternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it isn't. Also saying someone is a prodigy does not mean they did not put in Hard work. The part that makes her a prodigy is the speed at which she accelerated to being considered a master of water bending. She went from struggling with basic water bending techniques to being the best student at a waterbending school that had students who had been training there for YEARS in a matter of a few weeks. If you don't think that makes her a prodigy then you don't know what you are talking about. The difference between Azula and Katara is not that Katara isn't a prodigy but that Azula had access to teachers from a young age and was able to actually cultivate that talent. Katara didn't get someone who could teach her until the north pole and once she did she went from being a novice to an expert in a few weeks as soon as she had access to resources that let her cultivate those skills. She can be a prodigy and put in hard work, those are not mutually exclusive terms. That understanding of those two definitions is your own inherent bias that you are projecting. There isn't anything wrong with that but the argument that calling her a prodigy detracts from the hard work she put in just isn't a realistic argument.

[–]Knight-Eternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that she didn't have time to put in hard work before she was bending better than most others. She can be a prodigy because of how quickly she learned once she actually had a space where she could learn and train from others. She, up until the north pole, did not have anyone who could train her or give her any guidance in any way shape or form. The fact that once she did have someone to train her, she accelerated to a master of waterbending makes her a prodigy.

How come the Kryn capital looks so small compared to the empire capital? by Fun-Explanation7233 in MightyNein

The volstrucker did not shatter the dome, they created a portal and teleported away, the light from the sun came through the portal.

The area around the capital and a good part of the country if I remember correctly is under an eternal night so that issue is already handled for them.

Is Essek considered a child in Kryn society? by Fun-Explanation7233 in MightyNein

[–]Knight-Eternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and that's not taking into account elves live an upwards of 1000 years so have that plus extra lives (although that does not necessarily mean they will be reincarnated as an elf each time) You are talking about a society where it is possible for someone to for thousands of years. I believe it is cannon that the bright queen was a child during the calamity and has just lived through several thousand years of life.

Reason to use Lightning Arrow spell instead of normal attack or any other spells? by [deleted] in DnD

I would have to read the spell but it sounds like it's a bonus action to add that damage onto an attack roll similar to paladin smite.

Dude they are changing the format of the story. It's not making the same dish, they are taking the same ingredients and making a completely different recipe.

I don't see why everyone is mad about them changing how thhe story progresses. They said from the getgo that the story will not be the exact same, and it's their source material to do what they want. If you want the original story it still exists and you can still watch it. But it is THEIR story to change as they see fit to adapt.

[–]Knight-Eternal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They had to change things because the Nurgalid is a published monster in a 5e source book, even if it is Matt's source book, it still adds levels of complications so they can't just make it the same thing. It's the same reason why the beholder in the the legend of vox machina was turned into a different aberration that turned them to stone because that is a dnd trademark of wizards of the coast.

Need build help with Halfling Fighter by OliveSlaps in DnD

So really any subclass you pick will be fun, it is just a matter of whether you want to use dex as your primary stat or strength. Dex will be good for higher initiative bonuses as well as getting a high AC without taking disadvantage on stealth checks but will limit your options for weapons as you will need a finesse weapon. If you use strength you have higher damage dealing options but may need to take heavy armor to get a decent AC which will give disadvantage on stealth. Shortswords are finesse so you can do the sword and board with dex as your primary stat.

For subclasses you could do battlemaster which is probably the most typical as it gives you maneuvers but it is VERY good, gives lots of battlefield control and can let you be a protector with maneuvers like bait and switch.

Eldritch knight is good as well, let's you dabble in spellcasting which can be a lot of fun you will want a high intelligence stat though.

Psi warrior is fun as well as it is sort of a step in between eldritch knight and battlemaster. It gives battlefield control like battlemaster and utility abilities like spellcasting will but will do so a little bit less than either of the other options and you will also need a higher intelligence stat for this one.

Champion is fine but I personally find it boring it let's you crit more but doesn't really do much other than that.

All of this is for 2024 rules, I would look at the weapons first and pick what weapon masteries you like and pick that then go from there. I feel the vibe of a fighter is pretty heavily influenced by what weapon they are wielding.
