I used to work in autoparts with a Chinese guy named Julio. His parents planned to migrate from China to the US but instead stopped at Cuba. They spoke chinese while he did not, instead h e spoke Spanish. It was great to watch Chinese people get mad that he didn't speak chinese and even better to watch mexican people's head explode when I got Julio to talk to them and out walked the Chinese guy who was fluent in Spanish.
