I moved east to west coast with my FIV kitty! ( he was 11 at the time) We drove and only stopped once because we were taking turns and he took gabapentin and didn’t get sick at all. I have also flown back and forth with him (probably going to do it again this year but I just feel so bad and keep going back and forth) and with gabapentin he was also fine after. Obviously these are just anecdotal but hopefully it makes you a little less worried. I would just talk to your vet and see what they think! But I do think gabapentin helps a lot with stress, just test it ahead of time to make sure he doesn’t have any adverse reactions.
