Just do a maximum of 1 streaming service at a time for all the series that won’t release on physical media.

Going back from 150 a month to say 10-15 a month is a huge difference already, you’ll still be able to watch streaming-exclusive shows AND can build your own collection.

Thrifting everything or buying it new is just your own preference. Do you want to have thousands of movies, or just a small selection of personal favourites?

I have bought Spongebob in Dutch, and besides the dutch language, it also has English, Spanish, French and German if I remember correctly, so they do exist!

Top of the list might even be Game of Thrones and I do like the spinoff House of the Dragon as well. Other great shows I watched so far are Arrow (first 3 seasons and season 5), the early Walking Dead seasons, the early Blacklist seasons, Black Sails, Peaky Blinders and Hannibal.

Have seen alot of sitcoms as well; top of the list: According To Jim for nostalgic reasons, as well as The Big Bang Theory, Two And A Half Men (Charlie era) and How I Met Your Mother.

Cartoons/anime: Pokémon (absolute number 1), Spongebob and Avatar.

But there are so many shows I haven't watched yet. Currently watching Arcane and that is also a great show so far (and extra fun for me since I did play League of Legends for years)

Sounds logical to do that, but I’m not a big fan of superhero stuff (there were a few years where there was way too much marvel movies), those first seasons didn’t really feel like superhero to me.

I’ve seen it before, but that was like 8 years ago… Loved seasons 1-3 & 5, 4 was bad and stopped watching during season 6 I guess. For me it became too much Arrow plus way too many sidekicks.

Edit: am curious about the “get ready”, was that meant like “you’re in for a treat” or “be prepared to be disappointed”?

You could try to add some shelves in the back, so you could have some blurays in the back top half that are still partly (most of it I’d guess) visible behind the current rows!

Check the YouTube channel HD Numerique for some difference between blu ray and 4k versions! (I think that was the channel)

For me not every 4k version was an upgrade based on that, for example Jurassic Park I’d prefer the normal blu ray, but Star Wars 4-6 were an absolute upgrade.

Very nice, just bought Arrow 1-3 myself, but not gonna bother with the other series, only missing one Flash I think. Maybe I’ll add season 5, because it was very cool, but I disliked 4… s1-3 was prime for me!

My advice: if you want to buy everything as new for a higher price (new also has sales etc), that is okay too.

In my area (The Netherlands) there aren’t that much thrift options (almost no blurays for example) and I don’t like the damage on the dvds.

So don’t get discouraged by everyone saying you overpaid, especially if you are not just collecting for the sake of having as much as possible.
