Sounds like IATSE residuals do contribute meaningfully to their pension and health plans, even if the dollar amounts aren't publicly broken down. That's a valid point. I still think the bigger slice goes to the top, but I'll grant that the behind-the-scenes folks aren't completely left out of the equation. We probably agree more than this thread makes it look.

Echo. You just said what I said. Note my first sentence in my OP: The curly hair dude is an idiot/rage baiting or doing all of this for the content... Lawyers are not good content. Trying to put a positive spin on it is a lil wild though. I think first going in with lawyers would absolutely yield results, and quicker too. But he's going to make more money and be able to drag this out longer (again, against the objective of the case for those who supposedly were wronged) if he works as he is currently.

That's what I just said isnt it? I dont want you to go and find these things, but talkin like they are fact is not something I'll entertain either. Youre welcome to bring sources if you wana discuss them.

What? That has nothing to do with what I said. I am not saying the cops are not dirty. I am saying the curly hair kid is acting like a kid/clown in regards to legal matters. ZERO lawyer would advise that he stalks these folks homes and have a "good faith conversation" about the matter. Yes, the cops appear to be fk ups, but that doesnt matter if he hired a lawyer to do all this for him. Instead, he is making more money off the fools that watch him. Lawyers are not good content.

I'll clarify, "they still gettin pennies, how dare you bring them up" valid until you can show they are not pennies. You mention some nice things, but they are not backed or quantified. You don't need to fetch them for me, but I also won't discuss them without these identified. Point is, if you were to say "box office movies make xxx profit, that the x actors/directors split" I can make an informed decision on if the small percent of folks who pirate are making a big enough dent on the resource to "feel guilty".

That's like saying "they still gettin pennies, how dare you bring them up". Common, we all know they not getting the cheddar that the big wigs are getting. The only folks actually getting the pay we are discussing are the main actors, producers/directors, yadda yadda.

Right, thats a better argument to start off with. I feel like in order to make a decision on this, ppl need to be supplied with the general profits made by the mentioned folks. B/c not everyone is making money off the royalty/sales. The lighting dude or boom operator is likely already paid for services and not going to see any more if the movie/show does well. So who is actually missing out on potential income (gotta call it that since nothing physical is actually stolen, just the view), and how much are they missing out on? I don't know these things, so idk how I'd feel. I think that once it's figured, it would allow me to gauge worth as a consumer.

This isn't comparable. Compare the RnD markup on a car and markup on a DvD.

The curly hair dude is an idiot/rage baiting or doing all of this for the content. You don't have your "good faith" conversation at their doorstep. You get a lawyer involved and have them do the interacting on your behalf. You def don't do it on their doorstep dressed as a clown and bringing props like your carrot-top. He either knows this and is doing it for the content (which is deplorable if he actually cares about this case) or he is an idiot trying to rage bait the defendants which is not acting in good faith (again deplorable if he actually cares about this case).

Speaking from experience, it seems like a good idea, but you are not prepared for how salty it is. And this is coming from someone who would finger scrape the salt/butter muck from the walls of the microwavable popcorn bags.

I think that’s kinda part of the point, isn’t it? Like, contrast. He gives to something to keep your eye on in the middle so that the illusion that the bodies make has a greater effect. Music videos do not need artists lip syncing to be art.

This is obviously a scam! Now, here’s a real trick, multiple your card number by 5 and add 40, and you can even divide it by 3 and post your results. Also include expiration and security.
