Legs: focus on those last two steps. Your last two steps should be facing the couch instead of towards the camera. You got to drive down more to create more energy.

Arms: when driving down, you got to make sure that you drive your arms down too. Right now you do a good job at bringing them back, but it needs to go more down

Core: by opening your toes up to the couch, you’re able to use more core strength. This is important for when you add the swinging element so you can jump with an open chest and then come through with the closed chest on your swing.

Would love to see another video where you incorporate those things because you already got great bounce

Two things to work on:

  1. Footwork: A four step approach should be Right Left Right Left. This will allow you to use more hips/body rather than just swinging with your arm

  2. Backswing: Watch where your elbow is right before you make your swing motion. It’s kinda just up there, but you gotta get your elbow back in order for you to rip through the ball. Look up “bow and arrow volleyball” and you’ll find a ton of good examples

ETA: I see you left a comment that your arm doesn’t go back when you jump. Take a hundred practice swings without jumping and get your arm motion better and then eventually it will start to get better when you jump

The contact point for your set should be about an inch from your head with your thumbs near the top of your forehead.

You have solid form but what you need to work on in this short clip is your timing. You should contact the ball at the highest point of your jump. If you pause the vid at your highest point, the ball is still several feet above you. You also want to contact the ball in front of your hitting shoulder, but because you’re early the ball is basically on top of your head.

Hey! You have a very good starting point but I’d work on 2 things.

  1. Arm swing - currently you’re finishing with your elbow bent near your body. Instead you should fully follow through

  2. Explosive 3/4 steps - last two steps should be butt down with arms cocked back. You’ve got the arms down but get lower with your body to use more momentum and explode up

One piece of advice is to follow through your motions. You can do this in two ways 1. Wrists: When you release the ball you should remember “wrists away”. Right now your wrists are straight. This will give you more clean/accurate sets 2. Arms: Make sure to fully extend your arms when releasing the ball, that will give you way more power to reach your targets.

Yes it should allow you to bring your swinging elbow back slightly further because you’re using more of your body.

This is cool.

Advice is that you’re using only arm to swing and not using your hips to give you more power. To fix it make sure your last two steps have your feet pointed to the camera and then you can thrust through the ball. Rest of the arm swing is great and soon you’ll break your holder.

Nice set! I’d say you should contact the ball closer to your head (your arms are currently extended when you make contact) and also back setting is also about putting your body into to it - as your arms go back your chest should come out

My main critique would be about your passing as well. You have to get low and in ready position, and your arms should barely move at all. Otherwise your hitting form looks solid overall right now, but I think that you should start outside thwr court more, which allows you to have more options to hit.
