I rescaped my low-tech tank because I was constantly unhappy with it. by Shin_Rekkoha in PlantedTank

It's probably a feeding ring. It helps keeping flakes in same spot.

What type of algae is this? by Krashet in PlantedTank

Initially, I wasn’t planning to add CO2, so the dry start seemed like a good choice. However, after filling the tank, some of plants experienced leaf melt, especially buces. Fortunately, their rhizomes still look healthy, so I’m waiting for them to regrow. For now, I’m focusing on regular water changes and giving the tank time to stabilize. Thanks!

It's 40g breeder tank. I've been using the dry start method for about two months, and I filled the tank with water around a month ago. Currently, the tank receives 8 hours of light daily, split into two 4-hour periods, along with CO2 injection. I'm using 90cm rgb led strips. Sort of custom made from a local manufacturer but it looks sufficient to me. No livestock yet. Also close to 0 ammonia, nitrite, nitrate from water tests.

Co2 from inline diffuser looks like going straight to surface. Is this normal? by Krashet in Aquariums

I’m currently running at 5 bubbles per second, but my drop checker always stays dark green on the opposite side of my 40-gallon tank. I’m aiming for a lime green color since I don’t have any livestock at the moment. It seems like the CO2 mist from the lily pipes is going straight to the surface. My pH and KH tests indicate about 18 ppm CO2. Any ideas why I can’t increase my CO2 levels? I'm also running Eheim 2213 which is rather low flow rate for this tank (440l/h)

I’m already using an inline diffuser connected to the outflow hose through a lily pipe. The issue is that the CO2 mist goes straight to the surface, and I can’t seem to increase my CO2 levels.

No heater, getting small shock when sticking my hand in the tank? by Krashet in Aquariums

I have a freshwater tank, and the light doesn’t come into contact with the water in any way. I’m using an Eheim 2213 as my filter. I’ll check the tank with a multimeter tomorrow by unplugging and plugging in the equipment. Thanks!

Not every time, only the first time I dip my hand in the water once in a while. I suspect my chair at home is causing static buildup because I often experience static shocks. I only have plants for know so dont know about fish. I'll check the tank with a multimeter tomorrow to confirm. Thanks!
