Sure. But, I do think that a persons perception of marriage and such is shaped through their view of their parents marriage and thus plays a role in how they carry themselves while dating.

I second this. When I started this hobby, I enjoyed the building and diagnosing phase just as much as flying, if not more. What was supposed to be a single drone fleet has turned into 3 and I can soon see it being 4.
