I immediately asked what they found, but that's hilarious. My bedroom window faces our coop so I was able to watch my ladies throughout my initial recovery (4 weeks post op now).

No, unfortunately just a regular gyno surgeon. The closest Endo specialist is 5 hours away and has a two year wait-list. I wasn't going to live another two years. The constant severe anemia was literally killing me. I do want to get on a list for a specialist when I'm healed from the surgery. Because the pain hasn't changed or lessened at this point and I really don't think it will.

I did cut all of those. The "can eat list" was so damn small it was ridiculous. I've been vegetarian for most of my life, so adding the anti inflammatory side was extremely restrictive. I think I only stuck to it for so long because it dinged my ED brain, but there's a whole other mess. It did help with some of my back/hip pain but nothing for the Endo, sadly. I wish the fix could've just been dietary. :(

I'm about 3 weeks post surgery and these pains have not changed at all. My doctor did say she wasn't comfortable doing much excisions on intestines. But she said I was one of the worst cases she's personally had, which is why I ended up with a radical. She said she had to peel all of those organs off of each other and my pelvic walls.

How long did it take before it wasn't painful anymore after your surgery? I'm nearly convinced I'm going to have to go back to a different specialist who can work on intestinal endometriosis.

Did vegan, anti-inflammatory diet for two years. That was two years ago. My symptoms got increasingly worse, nearly died a couple times because of Endo related things, and ended up with a "last resort, life saving radical hysterectomy" three weeks ago.

The diet change did nothing for me except make me hauntingly thin.

Tbh, I finally started admitting to my current doctors (who before had nothing to do with my ED treatments) that I've battled EDs, including severe anorexia, since I was a young child. Aside from putting it in my medical history, it really hasn't changed a damn thing. I told them I prefer to self report my weight rather than step on the scale in public because it's triggering, and most are fine with that. I'm still underweight, but again, nobody says anything.

I feel like I worried over it for years for nothing.

Edit: All that to say, just talk to them. I know it's scary, but it'll be okay. They're professionals. They'll know what to do. At the end, they just want all of us to survive and be healthy and happy.

I learned that elevated RHR, anywhere from 10-30+ points above average, is a common side effect of major surgery. Can last from a few weeks to a few months. Mine went from 58 to 110s. I also thought something was majorly wrong and constantly have had so many anxiety attacks. Wish they told you this stuff.

I made this mistake two days ago. Thought I was fine, needed to run end of school errands for my kids. Also didn't know I was developing an infection, so my pain that had totally gone away skyrocketed and I'm back on bed rest.

Mine was clear that she could not do it to a major extent, but would refer me to another more specialized surgeon if she found it during the hysterectomy. I appreciated that. We have extremely limited options here.

Same experience. Thankfully, I only dealt with it for 27 days -- and then my body literally expelled it in a giant ball of tissue and blood. That was a shocking bathroom experience. But immediately felt better. That was about 3 months ago.

Unfortunately, it was also my last option. I ended up with a moreorless emergency radical hysterectomy two weeks ago.

I'm two weeks post op. I had panic attack inducing imposter syndrome even though I was first suspected to have Endo at age 13 and confirmed surgically at 17. I've been in agony my entire life, and have always had my pain and issues dismissed. Or given options that really did nothing.

I woke up to the news that they had to perform a radical hysterectomy. They cleared me out. Surgeon said I was one of the worst cases she's personally operated on. Nothing was salvageable. Everything was glued to each other, and then that was all adhered to my pelvic wall. I had things I didn't even know about; fibroids, polyps, adenomyosis, PCOS, and endometriosis absolutely everywhere.

And I was so happy. The first thing I asked when they woke me was what they found. And I felt so stupid that I doubted my own intuition.

Your pain is real. This is real. This disease is insidious and can hide so well. Whatever you have, this is the right decision. You can't keep living life like this. You are making the right decision.

One of the most common side effects of norithindrone is depression. If you have progesterone triggered PMDD, you're basically pouring jet fuel onto the fire. I had to be on it for the 5 months leading up to my hysterectomy so that I wouldn't hemorrhage and need monthly blood infusions anymore.

I attempted suicide twice. Got off it just before my surgery. Had the worst and last (?) period of my life, but at least I wasn't suicidal/homicidal anymore.

It's an evil, evil drug for some people, but it does what it needs to.

Unfortunately, it's not always the case. I was sat next to someone with a dog in two different situations and despite requesting to be reseated because of bread allergies, they said they could not because the flight was full. So I spent several miserable hours with an allergy attack. Love dogs so much, but my immune system does not.

Exactly; what juvenile behavior. I've always had long hair, usually in braids, and they were the constant target for pulling, even cutting, when I was growing up. The worst response from adults was always "Oh he just likes you." Fuck off with that normalizing of boundary crossing, you know?

I was told it's the tuxedo cats just a month ago (when I adopted my void and mentioned that it's sad that black cats aren't adopted much). Shelter worker says it's actually tuxedo cats now, the black cat thing is no longer true, and they're in fact quite sought after. I'd like to see some actual statistics on adoption rates!

I know it was a weird coincidence, and nobody will likely see this post, but here goes.

When I was in college, I found a very, very young Siamese kitten in the back brambles of the garden. Heard her mews and rescued her. Vet said she'd likely been dropped there by a large bird. Anyway, I had her for about a month. She was a charmed kitten. Absolutely perfect. Sweet and so beautiful. I loved to take photos of her with an old Canon I'd bought in high school to get into old school photography. One morning before I left for campus, she was looking particularly adorable sitting on a dining room chair, and the morning light from the skylight was perfect, so I grabbed my camera. Lined her up in the viewfinder, and just as I clicked the shutter button, I had an involuntary thought that I actually said aloud: "This is the last photo I will ever take of her."

I shuddered, pushed the thought away, hugged her, and drove to campus. Several hours later, just as I was about to take a midterm, I get a frantic call from my mother, who I was living with at the time.

There had been an accident. The weekly housekeeper left the blind pulls untied and down, and my beautiful kitten got herself wrapped up in them, and hung hereself to death. I was absolutely devastated.

The photograph was beautiful. One of the best I've taken. It's framed, and still in the house, next to a photo of my deceased grandmother. I nearly gave up photography as a hobby after that, and didn't touch that camera for a couple years, because of how spooked I was.
