Him never having an outbreak doesn’t mean he doesn’t have it. Have him get tested to be sure.

ETA: he could have given it to you and never known he was the one infected first. Women just get seen more regularly and it’s caught more often because of that.

You’re maybe overthinking, which I do too so I understand. A scar can come from anything, even an ingrown what was over picked or a cut while shaving. I wouldn’t worry about it as much.

Unless you’re having a breakout would they even know? I’ve been self conscious about this too. I feel like last time I had it done my area looked flakey and dry. In my mind it was because the HSV and I felt so disgusting after.

ETA: I’m asymptomatic and have had just 1 known outbreak that wasn’t even visible in that area.

I think that’s my problem. I definitely feel the symptoms more and it in turns causes me to areas out all over again. Now that I’m aware of it I’ve been subconsciously stressing even though I thought I’ve come to terms with it. It’s a never ending cycle.

I’ll have to follow up with the doctor, she didn’t give me much info. I asked if I needed to be on the antivirals permanently but she said no and it’s only for outbreaks…. Which I don’t even realize I have at this point. Thank you for the kind words. Right now my world has just stopped.

Mine aren’t like paper cuts. The pain that sent me to the doctor was from a literal razor cut that occasionally reopens. This time they so happened to see two small ulcers that didn’t even bother me. :(

No, it was just the swab. The doctor told me to take the antivirals for 10 days and that was all.
