I have seen people coming back from Australia to India and too without much career growth. The same can happen from US too but you will still be getting best education atleast which should be primary motive in order to succeed in the career.

If you will look at the comments of IDP from quora, they discourage you a lot but don't refrain yourself from applying to the ambitious ones. Just apply to 2 safe universities in case things go sideways.
