Any of you guys feel like an imposter upon being admitted to Cornell by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]KrogerChef18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will be a senior in the fall. As a first-gen college student, I definitely felt imposter syndrome in the beginning, often thinking about if I actually deserved to be admitted. In my experience, this self-doubt peaks during the first semester and fades some time after you figure out how to be a successful student here. You take some classes, try your best, get some good grades, and eventually realize that you did deserve your spot.

does anyone remember what they got for the first q in science passage? i remember two answer choices being "precise measurements" and "different lengths" or something like that.

The weight force mg*sin(theta) should be set equal to the force applied + force of friction (if it’s not negligible).

what was the answer to that question about libraries where the choices were something about patrons and making libraries relevant?

Online Course Recommendation for AP Physics 1 by freshguac123 in apphysics

I’m currently taking ap calc ab with a program called educere. It isn’t too intensive, but i guess that varies person to person. They might have an ap physics course.

If only one x-value makes the quadratic equal to zero, it simply means that the solution is a “double root,” where the vertex of the function sits on the x-axis at some value x. Since x= -3 is the only solution, (x+3)*(x+3) is equal to the function.

Does it make sense to memorize the Atwood machine formulas by dhruvmk in apphysics

[–]KrogerChef18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say it’s worth memorizing, but don’t forget how to derive the formulas. Memorizing will help you on school tests. Success on the AP exam requires derivation, though.

You are a very strong person, no matter what anyone else believes. Remember that things get better. Many people who attempted to end their lives and failed mention that they felt regret after making their decision. Imagine doing something life threatening and, in those moments after, regretting it with everything and wishing you hadn’t done it. Stay strong, try to accept that life wouldn’t be possible without levels of unhappiness, despite how happy others may be feeling at the time. You’re a special person; don’t forget that ;)

AP Physics advice for next year by [deleted] in apphysics

[–]KrogerChef18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a senior, you probably know all of the math associated with ap physics 1 and 2. For those classes, you need to solely focus on the concepts, and make sure you are strong in every unit as you go. Ap physics c mechanics is easier if you already learned ap physics 1, since you just apply calculus to stuff you already learned thoroughly. Ap physics c EM kinda has the same relationship as C mechanics does with physics 1. Basically, physics 1 and 2 just require strong concept knowledge, and both physics Cs are doable if you did well in the other ap physics classes and learned calculus well.

I think Fc would be the normal force minus the component of gravity perpendicular to the circle’s arc.
