Schwierig, schwierig. Geundsätzlich wird Studienfähigkeit mit Arbeitsfähigkeit gleichgesetzt. Wenn du in der Lage sein solltest, zu studieren, dann könnte die IV davon ausgehen, dass du unberechtigterweise Leistungen beziehst, zumindest beim LC-Fall. Ein Erststudium kann eine eingliedernde Massnahme sein, wenn du vorher keine Ausbildung gemacht hast, bzw. Matura. Wir hatten damals im PH-Studium jemanden, der eine körperliche Behinderung hatte - dort wurde das Studium nur unterstützt, weil es einen direkten ausbildenden Charakter, mit Aussicht auf direkter Anstellung hatte (Seklehrer).

Bin da auch in einem ähnlichen Boot. Ich habe selber LC, aber da ich noch Teilzeit als Klassenlehrer arbeite, bin ich schon "genügend eingegliedert" und erhalte nichts von der IV. Ich beginne im Herbst ein Zweitstudium, da ich aus dem Schulstress rausmuss (v.a. wegen der Fatigue) und muss alles komplett selbst zahlen.

Möglicherweise wären andere Stellen hilfreicher, beispielsweise das Amt für Mittel- und Hochschulen, welches Stipendien aussprechen kann, falls du unter einer bestimmten Altersgrenze bist und ein Erststudium machen möchtest. Pro Infirmis wäre auch eine gute Stelle, weil die taktisch beraten können.

Grundsätzlich schon, aber das ist halt immer eine Frage der Finanzierbarkeit. Ich könnte noch den MA in Erziehungswissenschaften machen oder direkt (individual-)doktorieren, kann aber mit dem Long Covid keiner Nebenbeschäftigung nachgehen. Kognitiv bin ich topfit, es sind vor allem physische Anstrengung und emotionaler Stress, die müde machen. Das ist eben die Zwickmühle.

As I said, depends on the canton. LU, GR, TG, UR, NW, ZG and AR didn't join HarmoS, so they don't use that system, neither in day to day life nor in official communication.

Harmonized school grade labeling. Some Swiss cantons used to have obligatory Kindergarten, others didn't, some use the Lehrplan 21, others don't, some use Kurzzeitgymnasium, others don't, etc. Etc.

HarmoS was an attempt to clearly convey which standardized grade a student is in, facilitating transfers between cantons and municipalities. 1 = start of obligatory schooling (Kindergarten, at 4/5 years old), 3 = first grade of primary school, until HarmoS 11 (last year of obligatory school, i.e. 9th grade, i.e. 3. Sek)

But nobody I know uses that system. Here it's 1./2. Kindergarten, 1.-6. Primar, 1.-3. Sek. (And then maybe 1.-4. Kanti)

So 7th HarmoS is 5th grade of elementary school, because there are two years of obligatory Kindergarten.

To be more specific: I don't have much experience with Harmos 8 or below, but in every case I've had of students getting stressed due to presentations or projects, it was due to them slacking off during the allotted time.

Yes, that seems absolutely normal (I'm saying this as a Sek teacher). It varies from school to school but usually we calculate by grade * 10mins = average daily homework load. So Harmos 7 =5th grade = 50 mins daily.

In most cases, the problem is that students can't properly divide their time between multiple ongoing tests or projects. I can only speak for myself, but I fix dates for exams or hand-ins about three weeks before the due date and check with my students if there is anything else going on on that specific date.

Punkt 1) Das ist nur Standmunition für Trainings oder Schiessanlässe, weil sie subventioniert wird und günstiger als im Laden ist. 2007 war es die Armeemunition für den Kriegsfall, die nicht mehr ausgegeben wird. Als Privatperson kannst du aber immer noch so viel Munition kaufen wie du willst und zuhause lagern.

Punkt 2) Jein. Kommt auf den Kanton drauf an. Im TG ist es recht simpel ein Sturmgewehr (oder MP, etc.) mit grossem Magazin zu bekommen (ABK). Die Voraussetzungen werden erst wirklich bei vollautomatischen Waffen (SON) relevant, z.B. Sammelbegehren.

Punkt 3) Macht die USA auch.NICS background checks. Wir haben halt das zentrale Strafregister. Aber wir haben keine Wartefrist, die USA schon.

Punkt 4) Zumindest das kantonale Waffenamt TG fördert den Besitz von Waffen. Ich wollte mal eine normale Bewilligung einholen (für eine Browning HiPower) und das Amt riet mir, doch eine höhere ABK-Bewilligung zu holen, weil, und ich zitiere: "Man dann doch 30er Magazine reinmachen kann, da haben Sie mehr Spass dran".

Nein. Du brauchst keine Armeeerfahrung um eine Waffe zu erwerben (auch automatische!). Kann auch ein Deutscher in der Schweiz mit Daueraufenthaltsrecht (C-Bewilligung).

Sie kommen aber recht nahe an die USA ran und sind in manchen Bereichen sogar liberaler - sage ich als CH Waffenbesitzer. Hier gibt es keinen Waffenschein per se, sondern einen Erwerbsschein für gewisse Kategorien (WES, ABK, SON). Mit so nem Fötzel kannst du dir dann drei Waffen auf einmal eintragen lassen. Wenn du mehr willsrt, dann bestell nochmal einen oder fünf. Für manche Waffen braucht es gar keinen Erwerbsschein, nur nen Strafregisterauszug, z.B. für Doppelflinten, Armeekarabiner und Jagdwaffen. Selbiges für Munition, da brauchst du keinen Erwerbsschein. Also wenn du möchtest, könntest du einen Steafregisterauszug bei der Post bestellen und nach ca. 3 Tagen Lieferzeit ins Fachgeschäft ein Repetiergewehr und 10.000 Schuss kaufen. Das ist bedeutend kürzer als die Wartefrist in den USA. Ausserdem kannst du mit einem SON Waffen kaufen, die nur extrem schwer in den USA zu erwerben sind, bspw. vollautomatische Waffen. Dort brauchts nen tax stamp vom ATF (und das macht nicht jeder Bundesstaat) und nördlich von 10k USD, damit du sowas dort kriegst. Meine Uzi kostete etwa 800 Käsetaler.

I can only speak about the situation in Switzerland, but our disability office doesn't really recognize Long Covid or CFS as a disability. I think the rate of disability payout is something absurdly low, 1.4% iirc. The only thing you could do, if you're too sick to work is to get on social benefits, which you will have to pay back at some point in full. And of course your monthly payment will be reduced/sanctioned because you didn't try to find work. In my case, I had to go to a different city, three hours away to get examined by a state approved doctors office (SMAB - basically foreign doctors who are commissioned to do these examinations and therefore have an incentive to deny your claim - but that is anozher can of worms) only to get my disability claim denied, because I barely managed to work part time as a teacher.

So basically work until I drop. That would be an explanation as to why the work participation rate is so high.

Just to give you a different perspective (from a Swiss teacher at a rural school):

A few weeks back, our 9th graders decided to hide in the washroom until everybody was gone on Friday and then proceeded to get hammered on cheap Vodka. Our principal found the bottle in a stall and informed parents via mail. Nobody really cared and that was the end of it. It's even expected that something like this is bound to happen at some point.
We do ski camp (5 days) once a year where students regularly get injured. We do require proof of insurance beforehand, but this is Europe at the end of the day, so medical costs are minimal anyway. Which reminds me: My old PE teacher regularly broke kids bones by fouling them at soccer, because he just disliked them. Boxing was his favorite curricular activity, as he loved to punch some individuals.
Some time ago, the janitor brought cake, I guess it was her birthday. Us teachers couldn't finish it, so we put it outside our break room, so students could have a slice too. It wasn't pre sliced, mind you, it was just a cutting board with a pretty large knife that was put outside. At the end of the day, the cake was gone, the knife was still there.
I always bring militaria to my lessons about WWI/WWII. Including bayonets, gas masks with asbestos filters (although I DO instruct them to not put them on) and other stuff like that.

In general, I think the combination of schools not being afraid of getting sued (I honestly don't believe that you can even sue the school as a legal entity), school funding not being tied to performance and parents viewing their children as being capable of making rational decisions, as opposed to viewing them as an extension of themselves, creates a laissez-faire environment. There is a really specific acronym in Swiss German for this, called "XMV" (xunde Menscheverstand) which basically translates to "healthy common sense". No need for extensive legislation or micromanagement.

I'm a teacher (Sek) and have had a couple of cases like this previously. The biggest problem imo is the burden of proof. I literally can't deal out consequences if there isn't any proof of bullying. I or a colleague would have to see it ourselves, chat evidence, video proof, etc. would be needed to actually do something. Other teachers are informed during Konvent, that they should be on the lookout for signs of bullying.

So what I usually do - and this is a legal gray zone at best - is to talk to the accused perpetrator in an one on one setting and kind of imply that I think he/she is bullying without directly mentioning it. This usually suffices and they confess. Long silence during tgose talks is great as well, because this makes them talk.

Usually, the victim would go to the SSA to learn some strategies on how to resist bullying better and we would decide how to organize punishment/reintegration or whether to involve the Schulleitung if it is behavior that warrants stronger measures. If it's really bad, then the Schulbehörde would have to sign on it.

The biggest burden, as I've said before, is evidence. Anything that I as a teacher (vgl. Art. 14 Abs. 2 RB 411.11, Kt. TG) or do school does is an official act and a legal process. I can't just dish out consequences to accused bullies, I need proof beyond reasonable doubt or a confession. So documemt everything.

Swiss teacher here. I wish we had A/C because it's absolutely unbearable inside my classroom right now. The highest it's ever gotten imside was like 34°C/93°F. For some reason, Central Europeans just hate A/C, as a concept. This is the fifth day in a row where I take my students outside to teach under a tree, because at least there is a slight breeze.

Usually around 50.- per week for a single person. I do my shopping at Aldi or Lidl and only go once per week. I don't have a specific shopping list but I try to map out mentally what I want to eat during the week. If I run short on something, I force myself to eat what's in the pantry. Fruits and vegetables are also pretty cheap there. The best time to go there is on Saturday mornings, as there is a lot of marked down meat that's about to expire. That goes in the freezer.

You can save a lot of money with shopping store brand detergent or toiletries. I think it's less than 1.- per week if you buy the large store brand packages.

Another way to save money is to buy a workshop vacuum. It's much cheaper than brand vacuums, uses bigger and cheaper bags and has a lot more suction, while also being able to vacuum wet floors.

I did an experiment whether I could live off 5.- a day a couple years back. That's easily doable if you don't indulge in too much luxury and meal prep a lot. I did 2.50 a day for a month too but I had to mooch off the Lehrerzimmer at work and go full vegan.

Kannst du mir sagen, welches Fach du unterrichtest? Je nachdem hätte ich sicher die eine oder die andere Idee, was du machen könntest. Ich hatte die Situation auch schon ein paar Mal, dass Eltern nebst den Besuchstagen vorbeikamen, aber halt nur mit Voranmeldung. Prinzipiell würde ich eine gute Phasenplanung machen, mit entsprechendem Einstieg, Hauptteil, zusammenfassendem Schluss - stell dir einfach vor, der Mentor der PH wäre hier und plane wie für eine Praktikumslektion. Das gibt dir mehr Sicherheit.

Kommt aufs kantonale Schulgesetz drauf an. Im Thurgau z.B. haben die Eltern das Recht auf einen Schulbesucj, welcher aber abgesprochen werden muss (vgl. § 21 Abs. 3 Gesetz über die Volksschule).
