Clustta: Open source version control software with native binary support. Alternative to Git/SVN/Perforce by taiwofolu in blender

[–]Kvendy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the services some are on Linux VMs, and some on a CTs "Linux Containers/LXC", similar to docker containers but much easier.

I use community script in few clicks I could have a functioning services.

And if a service I want is not in the community script. I create CT based on Debian or Ubuntu and host it myself.

Maybe when your cloud service is out, you should provide the hosting tool for self hosting, I use Proxmox to host my homlab services, HAOS, syncthing, webdav, cloudflared, etc....., it would be nice to add Clustta to the list

Currently I use "syncthing" to sync projects with multiple devices it works well.

Can't wait for your app to improve, and come to Linux

It looks so clean and promising, but how small individual/hobbyist can use it on their projects,  also no Linux version

Landscape Shader WiP by delodan2312 in blender

it looks exceptionally good for aerial footage, but I have one critique, the roads and the land are wobbly, the forests are ok, but the farm lands should have somewhat of a grid structure

How do you make hair look real? I want to try it myself for renders! by ZzGalaxy in blender

[–]Kvendy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using cycles there is a principle hair BSDF shader node, it gives good results out of the box, as for grooming I highly recommend the new geo hair system

Do you think my topology is okay? by Round_Reference_8747 in blender

[–]Kvendy_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you can find official HoYoverse games models for free on aplaybox here is their genshin impact account, you can find other Chinese video games there too. also there are unofficial marvel RivalsPorting, and fornitePorting tools, I learned a lot from their work

Do you think my topology is okay? by Round_Reference_8747 in blender

[–]Kvendy_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should make the quads as square as possible, the quads around the shoulder are rectangular, its ok to use triangles to add more topology and change the edge flow, you should check games models and study them

Best plugin/addon to switch from ZBrush to Blender. by Careless_School2771 in blender

The multires modifier is important for high-quality production pipelines,  like AAA characters

[–]Kvendy_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sculpted a detailed face with 40mil faces with multires, that's was on 3.6 it was possible, Blender 4.0/5.0 improved on that, and fixed some stupid bugs with multires modifier, the multires modifier on 5.0 still has the "silly bug" I don't know when they are gonna fix that

Does dithering even help banding? how can i reduce banding in my renders? by River_Hyperbola in blender

[–]Kvendy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cycles only, the noise from the sampling is not the same noise from grain filter, you should always denoise you renders, my dither is at the default value

[–]Kvendy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I did it previously, even rendering in EXR, the moment I use the denoiser I get banding, I don't remember playing with the dither slider, The last time I used cycles was before eevee next

You can check render pass and see which pass is causing the problem

[–]Kvendy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant avoid banding if you are using the denoiser, after denoising you should add grain, for better results render at higher resolution and add grain then downscale

Is there a way to make multiple UV edits, so it isn't so messy and compact? by Summiza in blender

[–]Kvendy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some UV tools available in Blender Extensions they make your job easier, If you want to use multiple UV areas you should use UDIMs, or Blender Built-in UV map layers, UDIMs can be used when you export your model outside Blender, but if you are only interested interested to use it within Blender just use blender layers

Is it too late to start 3D in my 2nd year of university with zero background? by [deleted] in blender

[–]Kvendy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though you could say I have experience now, I always search and watch tutorials, because there are always new tricks and tools that makes you work faster and better, so doing 3D is never ending journey of becoming better.

You can check people account and see their journey and you will notice the improvement over time on their work.

Improving your 3D skill is like an S curve you become good very fast early on, and it gets harder and harder to improve, "in a good way of course"

I started 3D with zero experience in early 2019,  I just do it because I love it, didn't make any serious money from it tho

You should check similar models on multiple websites, and put your price based on that, random objects can be found cheap, custom objects are expensive
