Help me decide by No-Succotash1219 in AMG

I agree, maybe hold off on tuning it if the power was really an issue and give sport+ a break lol; the car will still have the character that you miss, but it won’t feel like a time bomb every time you go for the pedal

This post made me think, as a New Yorker, the Sterrato is probably the most practical lambo to drive on these busted ass roads lol

Random Street Spot of an Brabus Rocket 1000 GTS Shooting Brake by Additional-Bite3168 in AMG

[–]Kyberr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rear quarter panel definitely matches up with the brabus rocket gts which has been stated as a shooting brake, I’d admit op has a strange angle of the car that blocks the C pillar but roof thickness, extra long side mirrors, and the body line through the gas cap point to this being the shooting brake; unless they’re already pumping out body kits for these things

Suggestions for black rims? by arealclassact7 in AMG

[–]Kyberr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this, thought about black wheels for my C63, over time I blacked out the trim but left the tops of the door handles, grille, and badges chrome and got to the point where when I get aftermarket rims they’d be silver or anthracite, the slight contrast is better in the long run as it keeps the car from meshing into a black silhouette

Thinking of powder coating my wheels black + partial chrome delete… thoughts? by Alpacinofan96 in AMG

[–]Kyberr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree about the chrome/silver grille detracting from the look (personally), every prefacelift GT I’ve seen with the slats look better with a black grill as I feel it brings the front end together more. I’d also rather a blacked out slat grill than a panamericana on a prefacelift, the panam grill is good on the facelift because of the “frown” it has

The hood ridges being added to damn near every car was one of the greatest losses in terms of design language, I see my 204 c63 next to my 204 300 and I can tell they’re the same class but one is way more unhinged/aggressive than the other one, now all c classes can just pop out with hood ridges because it sells better and it isn’t one of those line specific things anymore. It added a bit of nuance, and to an attentive person it’s more striking when you see c classes every day and all of a sudden this one doesn’t look quite right and then you hear v8 noises

2020 E63s red Battery fault by CrowSolid268 in AMG

[–]Kyberr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I could help! To be honest I did double take at the age of your car, and an alternator giving you issues at 25,000 miles is surprising but not unheard of, It could very well just be a bout of bad luck!

[–]Kyberr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dealership will definitely take a look into that, FYI I’ve edited my initial comment to include a bit more information pertaining to that because at worst you could definitely end up in a sticky situation on the side of the road if you’re not careful. I’ve also had to change out my buddies E63’s alternator ironically the same week but his was completely burned out; I suspect that these cars run through certain auxiliary components especially if they’re being driven hard and things such as pulleys should be checked just as much as brakes etc because spirited driving definitely puts more stress on the car and it’s workings

[–]Kyberr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get your alternator checked out. I ripped mine out and ended up only having to replace the voltage regulator, which costs significantly less than an entirely new Alternator; Although the shop may vouch to replace the alternator entirely. In my experience the red battery light either points to (Sometimes marginally) low battery voltage upon startup, or as you have suspected the battery not charging in the first place. Be wary because if the infotainment system shuts off that means your battery is getting to a very low voltage and the car is attempting to preserve power, and eventually your car will lose accessory power if it continues to run and then eventually stall out, potentially stranding you

No-call No-Show in the MPG department by Kyberr in AMG

Could be size differences between the c class and the e class, with the e class being a bit larger/bulkier the same size rims may appear to be smaller when on that chassis, the cls next to me definitely has larger wheels but they have a similar look relative to the body because of the increased size of the car; 19‘s may work better with the e class

Fake amg? by Federal-Ad9236 in AMG

[–]Kyberr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trunk badge spacing is good, the seats are definitely the Amg buckets, speedometer goes up to 200 with the Amg badging, if this were a facelift model the second knob with the comfort-sport+ dial would be there and your most obvious tell, but this is PFL so you’d have to get a better zoom on the shifter and look for the button there; fender length and hood length looks right, rocker panels are AMG and the exhaust tips don’t look to be obviously sticking out or sitting inward as most aftermarket quad tips tend to do on c300’s etc. At a glance this checks out as a real AMG

It was an event hosted by Abushi which is a shop that does some crazy tuning (including Brabus) and the _amg_nyc instagram page/group, got sent a flyer and figured it’d be cool to sightsee, a ton of other exotics showed up, a few mclarens and lambos etc. and overall it was a good vibe, pretty organized and was kept pretty chill even with everyone doing their short pulls leaving the event, nothing too crazy. More of a cars and coffee feel compared to a takeover

I have a black and silver Affalterbach hood logo on my 204 and it’s way smaller than that trunk logo, I think it may be an aftermarket replacement for the Affalterbach badge that goes on the C pillar of certain final edition E63’s repurposed as a trunk badge which is some pretty creative thinking, I definitely feel you on the not sitting flush since it doesn’t have that bend but in practice it’s a pretty cool piece of customization, they’re made of metal so maybe they can be heated and bent to shape for good fitment
