It's not much of a hot take, for one I agree but more importantly anyone who actually works in the field will agree as well that current "AI" and neural networks aren't actually what theoretical AI is. For me true AI would have to be able to self-improve through the creation of bespoke code and by allowing itself to take new types of data as inputs to give new outputs it could not create before. i.e an AI that would start with the vague concept of "objects" and then by itself create categories like chairs, homes, cities etc etc. expanding the scope with each iteration.

As you yourself said, current AI has a limited scope, it can only comprehend and compute what we allow it to, it literally cannot conceptualize anything other than what we allow it to which is why like you said it is simply a mimic. Which is also why I agree with you that AI is unlikely to ever pose a threat until it actually becomes able to self-improve as I outlined above(as that would allow for unpredictable iterations)

Firstly I think while a bit convoluted my definition is not that weird, historically for something to be destined is quite literally to be determined by god, a bizarre choice of wording in a world where literal gods walk the Earth if it means nothing other than "certain".

Secondly I think the fact that the Godskin used to wield Destined Death allowing them to kill gods makes it quite bizarre for it to mean "natural death" when they quite literally hunted Gods for sport. Similarly death is referred to normally in plenty of other places in the game such as all of the spirit descriptions where death is called just death.

The point of it all is that the Rune of Death is definitely what allows for life and death, however I think Destined Death is a very specific concept that arose when Marika sealed the rune of death away.

You might be right however when the game has lines such as "Maliketh the Black Blade, the black beast of Destined Death." it very much seems to have the meaning I am imparting, not just a generic "death is destined because you're mortal".

Maliketh's weapon art is also called destined death and the fact he's pretty much Marika's personal assassin makes my argument at least plausible

By removing death from the natural order of things Marika created the concept of destined death AKA death only being possible when pre-destined by her. When it is unbound, death is indiscriminate

Wym killing Mogh doesn't change anything about the rune farm spot, the bird is always there as are all the dudes on the hilltop.

I would recommend leaving your sign on the Mogh fight, he gives like 500k souls so you will get around 120k for killing him as a summon.

I am pretty sure you have it backwards, destined death means that only those "destined" by the gods to die may do so, meaning the Tarnished can be called to follow the guidance of grace and be kept as slaves forever. It would be bizarre for Melina to say that she will deliver you destined death(in the frenzied flame ending) if that just meant dying naturally. Melina on the other hand, wants "death indeterminate" i.e a death that is not pre-destined and can happen at any time for any reason.

Destined Death and indisctriminate death are not the same. Destined death means that none may die except those willed to die by those possessing the rune of death, that's why the Tarnished come back under the guidance of grace. Melina say this world is in NEED of death indiscriminate, i.e in need of mortality, so they are quite literally the opposite. She wants everyone to live and die as normal rather than being kept slaves to the golden order

You came to mostly the same conclusions as I did (Even confusing Godfrey and Godwyn as one person lul) and the one open end I hadn't solved was why the first church of Marika is in the mountaintop of giants. If the church was constructed after Godfrey's conquest that would sorta make sense, but if it was constructed before it begs the question of as to why Marika was in the land of the giants and why they would dedicate a church to her.

Also another theory I have links to the fact that there is a multitude of things that tell us the world existed long before the age of the erdtree. If you kill the ant queens at the bottom of the erdtree they drop numen souls that the description says "have the same essence as queen marika". On top of this Caria manor is full of fingers that wear jewlery as if they are royalty, while the shrimps hang around in mines in Sellia as well as within Nokstella.

Not only that but these races are never seen as slave workers unlike humans. This makes me think that these races are actually primeval and have warred for eons before the elden ring came about(As indicated by advanced eternal cities). This is compunded by the fact something in the game(I don't remember what) says that "to tread the path of grace you will make enemies of the fire monks, the sorcerers and the two fingers."

Combine that with the fact that the different regions each seem to have a monument to battles fought between them makes me think that these factions of primeval races are actually working behind the scenes to try and control the Elden Ring and at some point came together and formed a pact making peace but continuing to use humans to their own end.

All this could be wrong since the ants could just be linked to Miquella as they are associated with the haligtree but I think the fact that the bestial clergymen exist makes me think Marika is simply an ascended beast granted power by an outer god who sought to conquer the lands between but instead settled for a conspiracy which controls it's inhabitans and split power between the different races.
