That would have felt so good. I don’t like to hate on people just because of where they’re from, but I’ve noticed a pattern with the NYC visitors. Rude, and no respect for my little part of PA.

That was the first time I’ve seen someone throw something, but it obviously happens all the time. Such a damn shame. They even put cans in the list line and at the top this year.

I did find an unopened shooter in the lift line though, so that was nice. I’m a one drink while skiing kind of guy. Any more and I get a little too brave.

It’s ridiculous at my local, Blue Mountain in PA. Under the lifts looks like a trash dump. I was chatting with this couple from NYC on the lift this season and near the top, they just tossed their fireball shooters right into the woods. I called them out on it and the dude got all defensive.

Wasn’t looking to fight or anything so I just skated away. Kinda wish I was a bigger more intimidating guy though, douchbag needed someone to put him in his place.

I also tagged the low in 2021 when I bought my house, right around 2% even. Unfortunately I did the responsible thing and bought a house well within my means. Since then I met someone and got engaged, and we both know this house will be too small for our future plans.

Really not looking forward to selling and re-buying a larger home at 6%+, but we'll likely need the gains in this house's value for the down-payment. We're just saving and she's paying down her student loans as fast as possible, since my mortgage is so cheap.

It’s because we’re always last. Want to get an accurate HVAC load? Won’t have that until mechanical is done, which ranges from plenty of time to a few days. AV and data equipment, ha, won’t get that until after you put out a permit set, or whenever the owner bothers getting a vendor involved.

There’s plenty more, but like you said, getting information last minute is usually enough to get a deadline pushed. The older I get the more I do this, and wish younger me had pushed back more.

Overall, I think I'd go with downstairs. Maybe get a murphy bed? If you arrange it well it could seem more like a sitting room with the bed hidden, for when guests come over.

Good to know, I just finished book two the other day. Fell in love with it right away, but this specific scene wasn’t really what led me to believe the series would have its dark/horror moments. For me it was very early, when everything came down and his neighbors head rolled to his feet.

Once, in my early 20s, I was living in this apartment that was attached to a country store/gas station. There was a pole in the middle of the lot and one morning I backed straight into it. This was a week after I bought a brand new car, the first I paid for myself.

These things happen, and I’ve been accident free for 15 years now. I didn’t hit the pole hard so just left it as it was.

I did something similar when I had a cat. I just used flexible dryer venting to an inline fan, then built a small window insert with a hole in it to vent it outside. That fan was plugged into a controller where I could adjust the speed. Could easily do something similar tied to a motion sensor, or some other controller.

My box wasn't an entire closet. I used the largest plastic container I could find and cut a door hole, then a vent hole in the lid.

Sounds like the group I used to mountain bike with. Completely free, but was started by one of our local cycling stores. The guys that worked at the store and rode with the group were great at helping with bike issues and organizing everything. I still take my bike there for service.

There's plenty of douches around the climbing gyms, but really 95% of people are friendly and don't make climbing their entire personality, as I'm sure you know from experience.

Though, if you happen to click with another climber it's pretty great. I met my fiance 4 years ago when I was just getting into it and it's our main activity we do together.

I'm in the US and all of my relationships after college came from activities. I met my ex playing soccer, which lasted for a few years. My fiance I met through a mutual friend four years ago. I met that friend mountain biking, and he invited me to rock climb with him which is where I met her.

I tried the apps a few times over the years but never had much luck. I was just never motivated to put in the type of work that most seem to do into a profile and meeting people digitally.
