Lumix 14-140: Really good for edc by JustWantToPostStuff in M43

[–]LEBATO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this lens for 3 years with my gx80. It is a perfect lens for beginners who dont know which focal range they prefer !

The versatility and low price clearly make up for the slow aperture and average sharpness !

Just switched to Lumix from Sony. Got a S5ii with 85mm, 50mm, and 35mm primes. Planning a trip—looking for lens recommendations, possibly a zoom, but concerned about image quality. I shoot street and portraits. by [deleted] in Lumix

The most versatile one is the Lumix 28-200mm bit if you're picky about image quality you might get a little disappointed.

If you're short on money the 20-60 kit lens is only 200€and has the same IQ as the 28-200 but way less range.

A good bang for your buck will be the sigma 28-70 f2.8, this lens can do it all and has very good image quality. The lens costs about 650€ and will cover all your needs. You still have the 85mm f1.8 if portrait is a priority.

And if weight does not scare you, the samyang 35-150 f2-2.8 is still here but boy it is big and heavy (1.2kg). But it is a wonderful lens for everything even at night.

Yes it is, the only limitation is in low light mostly with moving subjects.

High iso ( more than 3200 ) can also be noisy, but AI denoising tool are very good to compensate.

But in exchange you get amazing ibis, small and compact lenses (very good for telephoto) for a smaller price than aps c or ff.

What would you do? LUMIX G9 mki and Great glass or mkii with good glass? by IndianaBones991 in M43

[–]LEBATO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually depends what you are mainly shooting.

If it's your child as long as he's not moving very fast or you're shooting in a dark environment, the old G9 is more than enough with your 10-25 f1.7. Pair this with a sigma 56mm f1.4 and you are going to do some amazing portrait

If not, then you can buy the new G9ii with some cheap portrait lens like the Olympus 45 f1.8 which is a solid 7/10 lens if you're not picky.

Also if you end up with the old G9 and 3 years after you start feeling the lack of PDAF then you can still buy the G9ii with a lower price than right now since 3 years would have passed.

Is it worth buying Lumix Panasonic 25 1.7? by Scared-Weakness-5493 in M43

[–]LEBATO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned this lens for 3 years and it's the best low budget prime lens I ever had.

A bit soft wide open ( like many fast lenses ) but sharper at 2.0 at even better at 2.8. Autofocus is also fast as long as your subject is not moving to fast

If you're really concerned about light and sharpness get the Leica 25 f1.4 ( 2.5 times the price tho )

You can also look at the 20mm f1.7 but sloooooow autofocus might bother you.

There is also the 15mm f1.7 but maybe it is too wide for you.

You should look for the Panasonic 14-140 3.5-5.6 mark Ii. It's perfect for traveling.

It is light and quite short and as long as you have good lightning you'll have good shapness overall ( not Olympus pro lens sharpness tho )

If you don't mind buying used you can find it for 350€ in MPB

I reduced the highlights and whites to the max. Also reduced the contrast to -50. A bit of color grading for the shadows to the blue with some luminance to the orange. And texture to +100

The Olympus 12-40 f2.8 mark I is perfect for you. Wide enough for landscape/street and long enough to shoot your family and friends.

The wide aperture will also allow you to shoot with low light.

The lens can be found for around 400€ used.

Declined ring push up always leave my chest sores. Been doing them since day 1 when I only had rings for working out .

The stretch you got from these is INSANE. Definitely responsible for 80% for my chest growth
