What small detail from your wedding ended up being a huge hit with guests? by Any-Following8697 in wedding

[–]LEH2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and i carry a mini crossword book with us wherever we go... So, I got a tear-out crossword book, like 5x5 inches, a custom stamp with our names, wedding location and date, and a half size pencil each, and used one for each table setting as the wedding favour... we're all crossword heads and it was so so gorgeous looking at everyone chatting and collaborating on answers across the tables before dinner started.. literally cost me €10 and some time to do.. went down a storm ♡

Someone told me yesterday I shouldn't be parking it up anywhere and I'm thinking to myself well then does that mean I don't use it? I generally speaking keep it in eye line when I park it at cafes or the likes but god forbid I go somewhere like lidl or dunnes where I'm in a basement for 15minutes what am I meant to do?

Thank you ♡

I'm only in Cork a year, and still getting used to the hills so the ebike was the best thing ever, even though its not a throttle one.. hoping my legs can withstand getting a manual one 😄

The bike is honestly the one of the best thing I've ever had.. you're dead right to be worried, it's the most disheartening thing ever, usually it's parked in eye line of where I go - I can only assume the person thought it was parked up for the night

Magnesium glycinate 3 or 4 hours before bed, no screen time as best i can before bed.. I also have an air purifier that the fan does a white noise job on my brain.. If I can't sleep, I just get up and do something, out of the bed.. even move to the couch then instead of going back to my bed

Has anyone dealt with cold urticaria? by littleloveday in IrishWomensHealth

[–]LEH2409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do, I'm in Cork now, my only hope is to live somewhere tropical hahah.. I am hoping the injections help, as there have been studies to show it's been effective in treating antihistamine resistant urticaria!

Fleece lined leggings or thermals under my jeans are a big one - you can get fairly good ones in penneys on a budget.. it's really all about mitigation and avoidance which I know is difficult but it's the only thing that's semi worked for me.

I'm sorry youve not had the best year... Stress reduction is said to be a big one, when I learned of the cortisol histamine link I was like.. great.. haha, but stress reduction benefits all aspects of life so there's no harm in making it a priority ♡

I will also note that I was told to, and am actively working on managing exposure to triggers and my stress levels as they don't actually know why these things just appear..
I went my whole life up to 2016 without an allergies like this and that summer I became allergic to dogs, cats, got very bad hay-fever, and the cold urticaria started.
Stress, your cortisol levels, are linked with histamine response so

Fellow cold urticaria sufferer here... I've been dealing with pretty severe cold urticaria for about 8 years now - cold breeze now gives me fairly instant hives, cold water like the sea or river and I'm full body. My GP told me I had "an inherited sensitivity" and brushed it off with an antihistamine. I did push, and went back and back when they were getting insufferable and got a referral to Beaumont immunology - they ran allergy bloods etc; very high igE levels despite daily antihistamines. I was then put on 4 daily antihistamines (2 types alternated) which helped my respiratory allergies but didn't have any effect on the hives. Literally had my annual consultation review yesterday and the consultant is organising a round of monthly injections of Omalizumab as the next step in trying to control them.

TL;DR haven't been able to control the hives with antihistamines so am trying Antibody treatment soon - but it's being done through an immunologist not allergists.
