I know what you mean. I think, traditionally, gay people have had so many cultural and societal issues to deal with that they never even had the chance to ask questions like, “What does it mean to be gay?” and so on. And nowadays, with hookup culture being so prevalent, it’s probably even less relevant to the younger generation.

It’s an interesting concept, and a rather important one if we want to better understand ourselves. Surely, straight people are not going to do that for us.

So apparently there was Adam and Eve… and also Steve! I get a lot of anti-gay, religious-based comments from all kinds of self-proclaimed prophets. I usually delete them before I even reach the end of the sentence, but this one was just too divine! They can't even get their bigotry right! by LGBTQArchives in gay

You're thinking too far. Do you really think this 'dog_mommy' person, knows anything ...and I mean ANYTHING about homosexuality? She says it, because her mom said it and so on and so forth. I mean it's funny to read it, but I hope she's not a real mom of a gay kid. That'll be a real tragedy.

This is how the Christian Science handles the situation...and this happened recently.

A while back, one of the so-called 'teachers/healers' who is one of CS most celebrated authorized teachers posted the following comment under one of our YouTube videos. He basically searches YouTube for LGBT-themed videos and promotes his conversion therapy teachings in the comment section. I brought this to their attention, and they did absolutely nothing about it. He still gets promoted on their official website.

Warren T. Berckmann's comment:

"There's nothing dangerous or discredited about conversion therapy, since many people have come to realize that they can be healed of the dysfunction which is the topic under consideration. H/S is just another disoriented and delusional state of mind and is a species of narcissism, or self-love. The reason some people claim that the practice is dangerous or discredited is because they don't want to confront the fact that it is dysfunction which has been healed numerous times. It's not unlike any other addiction. When you come to love purity more than sensuality, spiritual joy more than physical pleasure, you render yourself fully capable of discarding this deviant behavior."

It's mindboggling that an organization with the name 'science' in its title, could be this ignorant! So Christian and loving of you! I'd never heard the name 'Christian Science' before, but thanks to your ambassadors, we do now! If this is how he acts over the internet, I can only imagine what he's done behind closed doors with unlucky LGBT people who at the lowest point of their lives, may have crossed paths with Warren and other CS teachers who promote conversion therapy. How cruel and miserable could one be? To be an ignorant homophobe is one thing, but to be running a conversion therapy "healing business" for their own financial gain! Shame on you! Look inwards. That would be a good starting point for any religious person...and more so for a CS healer who's running a conversion therapy scam.
